I've never had it happen so close to a booking in appointment DFD but I'd be surprised if they were organised enough to cancel the lab looking at the blood test. But I think the bloods at 7 weeks are just to check your blood count? The chromosomal tests are usually a bit later at around 12 weeks, and a chromosomal abnormality could certainly cause a loss.
The tests they do for recurrent miscarriage are quite different to the ones they do in early pregnancy, so unfortunately you are unlikely to get any answers from the bloods they have done. The good news though is that having one loss does not make it any more likely that you will have a second one, and that many women are more fertile immediately after a loss so hopefully it won't take another 8 months to conceive again. (that being said I am about to start my 9th cycle TTC since my last loss, so there are no guarantees).
I am very sorry for your loss, and your story isn't any less worthy or heartbreaking than anyone else's on the thread. We have all lost much wanted and loved babies, at whatever point in the pregnancy this occurred and we all understand how you feel and will be grieving with you for this.0 -
Hi debt free dreamer, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, its a horrid thing to happen to anyone. I had a miscarriage 12 years ago at 9 weeks, i thought my world had ended, two years later i gave birth to a little boy spookily born on the due date of my lost child. Hi there guys
I have had to move here from the up to 12 weeks pregnant thread.
We went for our 12 week scan on wednesday, according to my dates I was 13+1. However according to the scan the baby had only developed to 9 weeks and had no heartbeat.
This will be my 3rd mc. this one undoubtedly the worst as I knew what was coming. In addition it had to be medically managed-something i've never had to contend with before, it meant being sent home from the scan on wed and having to wait until the friday, knowing theres a dead baby inside me, to be induced.
Had I known then what I know now I would have opted for the surgery.
I had to have tablets inserted vaginally, not a nice experience for me or for my husband who stood and held my hand whilst a doctor inserted them
Then the contractions started which again hubby had to nurse me through. i must say hes been fantastic through it all.
But it was full on labour, waters breaking and everything
I think that will trumatise me more than anythingOn a mission0 -

DFD & Lauradora, so sorry for your losses. DFD, not really got much to add to what others have said, other than to say I hope you're OK. The sense of shock I felt with my first loss was like nothing I've ever experienced, it takes time to come to terms with everything so be kind to yourself over the coming weeks xxx
Lauradora, that really sounds horrificHope you & your OH are OK xxx

Hi all,
Is it possible that I could join? I too was on the up to 12 weeks thread, but after some spotting and a viability scan, we found that I had miscarried.
Hospital found something on my ovary, but can't work out whether it's a cyst or the pregnancy, so I have been back and forth to the hospital for blood tests (something to do with hormones).

It sounds as if they are checking that the hormone level is dropping, do you have to return much more ?
