Rups, as long as your bleeding has stopped you can have sex without worry. As you ovulate between the mc and your period you can get Pg immediately, which is how I got DD. I was pregnant with her 2 weeks after my first mc.

On crappy hospital communication, my EPU sent me a text reminding me of my appointment to follow up after my mc, which read Don;t forget your child's appointment...(my bold). I was so stunned I laughed.

thanks skintchick, that helps..:) been worried that cant let him near me yet. lol.. i am a bit scared to start off again but lets see. hehe.. i was advised at the hospital to wait till period is back so the date can be calculated for eed. today has been the first time since i got the positive preg test that i actually felt a bit naughty. gosh i feel so naughty and silly writing this.. hehe
my god re your epu's text. i know some of them just dont communicate at all, like in my case, so i kind of left it too.

Rups, dating is not such a big issue as they make out, they can guess it until your scan, and if you want to get PG immediately it is up to you, don;t be put off by them bleating about dating. We are not here to make their lives easier, after all!

I found sex after my first mc very healing, actually, not so the other two but that's because we had DD and it was harder fitting it in, so to speak! :rotfl:

so how would i, for example know now when i was to ovulate? the bleeding stopped the day before yest.. i mean i still had little bits while wiping but thats it. its gone now and finally my bore boobs are gone too. couldnt sleep on my belly at all. :0(

My GP advised me to wait 3 months before trying again however my consultant said that we could try as soon as we wanted and that it was only for dating which they would have to do at the scan anyway and that there were no health reasons not to.

Ovulation after a loss will vary, it is estimated that your period will return (after you have stopped bleeding) 4 - 6 weeks. Most women ovulate around 2 weeks before a period (again this is just and estimation) personally my period didn't return for 8 weeks, which meant I spent quite a few weeks doing OPKs (Ovulation Predictor Kits) and Pg tests to find out what was happening.

There is no right time to try again, if you are ready now go ahead but if you aren't ready don't force yourself everyone reacts differently.

That's what happened to me, I had my emergency scan and then mc confirmed at a hospital near work. They did say that usually when they diagnose a mc they cancel all scans etc at their hospital there and then but aren't able to do so for another hospital. Despite telling my mw and my gp getting a letter I still got a scan appointment :mad:. I got hubby to call and tell them, he was told I had to call myself and cancel, to his credit he told them I wouldn't be calling to cancel, we'd lost the baby and wouldn't be coming, they could either take it off the system or wait for us not to show up.

I was told your cycle should be normal-ish and to count the last day of bleeding as CD1. I haven't done any opk this month as I'm not sure I'd trust them anyway with all the other hormones flying about in my body but going by cm etc I ov'd 13 days after the bleeding stopped which is the same as pre mc and we may have had very well timed bding but don't tell anyone....

Thanks for that colli. i was tempted to ask hubby to ring them but i thought i better just do it today and am just turning a blind eye to it..what is annoying me lots now is whenever i am out, is seeing pregnant women which is no ones fault but also online on FB or anywhere there are like sales for pregnancy wears, products in John Lewis! How typical, out of everything, they won't show make up or anything, but maternity stuff! cruel cruel world!!

oh well to make it worse, this guy who i used to work with in my old team at work, has an interview in my new team and i really dont like him. he texted me to ask where am i as he wanted a chat! he is such an idiot and not a team player. Now i am stressing that he doesnt get that job. I know i am terrible but he has had issues with every one in the old team esp women!!! oh dear..

think i will head out for some shopping therapy!!! better ring the stupid hospital.

Thanks for the advise re trying. I think i am sort of getting there to start trying as all i am thinking of is having a baby.. and last night hubby was being a bit affectionate. Normally I have pushed him away saying no, but yesterday i was actually starting to enjoy it.. so who knows? :rotfl:

ps. i am terrible at working out ovulation times etc. completely rubbish.. so the last day of your period is when you start calculating from? i mean a few days after your last day is what people call the 'safe' zone for not conceiving right? sorry i sound so silly.

in a normal cycle, first day of your period is CD1
but mc bleeding isn't the same so people count from when it ends. it's a bit funny though because the reason people say you're more fertile after a mc is because there's no telling when you'll ovulate, could be as soon as you stop bleeding, could be weeks after.
i remember one thread where a woman had unfortunately had her baby born sleeping at 36 weeks and 36 weeks after that her next child was born

i felt strange about marital relations whilst i was bleeding and never thought i'd want it again, but after it stopped it was nice to be able to reconnect in that way and feel like a normal woman/couple again x x
