    Hello again Bikerchick,
Your plan sounds sensible and I think (and hope) you'll probably find nature will take over in the next week or so.
You're doing well at being very logical, as you say, but it's just rotten bad luck and I do feel for you. If you find you're struggling to cope without anyone knowing what's happened, just tell people - you won't believe how many people will come out of the woodwork and say that the same thing happened to them. It can help you feel much better when you're not keeping it all to yourself, so bear that in mind.
I found that really silly things upset me...like the leaflet from the hospital, which said, "We are sorry you have lost your baby," and which was obviously meant to make me feel better!
But being around pregnant women and listening to them talking about their pregnancies and their babies definitely didn't do much for me so be kind to yourself and try to avoid these situations. When I was being scanned to see what still remained after an incomplete miscarriage, I was left waiting with a room full of excited pregnant women. After a bit, I got up and said to the receptionist, "I'm not staying here - I'll be back on the ward," and left. It was the best way to protect myself and I still feel glad that I did it (14 years later!).
Take care of yourself and don't lose heart - it's overwhelmingly likely that you will go on to have a successful pregnancy in the near future.

  • So sorry Bikerchick xx I wanted to add to MSB's excellent advice, just to say to make sure you call your local EPU if the pain/bleeding gets too much. It's good that you haven't told many people, with my first loss I found it very upsetting to have to try to remember who I had or hadn't told. Take care of yourself xxxx

So sorry Bikerchick. I too had a feeling and miscarried at 6 1/2 weeks just before Xmas. It took two weeks naturally (just finished)and my local EPU were brilliant as was my GP at organising a scan so quickly. Hugs to you. Our little ones just were not meant for this world. Take care xx

Thank you emsbet. Perhaps one day we'll be chosen. Sometimes it seems so unfair but I believe there is usually a reason for everything (somewhere!).

I am sorry notisis, it is very hard to lose a little one, especially at Christmas.

  • Notisis - thanks for the note on the time taken and , !!!! time for it to happen but just as we have both said we will get there when its meant to be.

I'll remember to take it further if the pain etc is bad, I hope at the moment that I can continue with work but am consious that I may have to have time off to cope etc. We'll see what happens when it actually starts.
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, you've just decided to see beyond the imperfection.....
