    Hello skintchick,

I can only echo what the others here have said - horrified to see you here when it all seemed to be going well, and so very sorry. There's nothing else to say except you'll be in my thoughts over the next few days...weeks...months. I just hope you don't feel so alone to know there are many of us thinking of you, sending sympathy and wishing you strength to get through the next bit.

    Best wishes

I am going to the hospital at 2.15 to discuss the options. Nothing has happened so far. It feels very surreal. With my other two miscarriages I started bleeding so at least then something was happeneing and I just got on with it. This limbo is weird.

It is horrid I agree. I hope this afternoon goes as well as can be expected. When we had our most recent loss, I have to confess I took very little in when they were explaining the different options and initially plumped for an ERPC which was scheduled for the next day. When I got home and had a chance to properly think about things though I decided to let things pass naturally, and the hospital were fine when I phoned to cancel the operation only a couple of hours before I was due to go in. They also said that if I changed my mind again, or if things weren't plain sailing, that I could phone back and rebook.

Do you have someone who can help look after Lily for the next couple of days in case you do decide to go for the ERPC? I imagine that you will want and need your OH with you for support, but I know she is very attached to you. If he needs to stay with her, have you got a good friend who can come into hospital with you instead?

My mum is coming down today (two hour drive) to have her while we go to hospital and if I needed her she would come and stay with Lilia if I went into hospital to stay. We have a spare room and they are retired so it would work out.

I've been thinking of you skintchick.

I hope today goes as well as it can. Don't feel like you have to make a decision there and then. Like others have said, even when you have decided which option you want to take, you can change your mind if you want/need to.

    xx

  • So sorry for you loss skintchick, I know exactly what you mean by the limbo bit, you expect bleeding and sometimes it doesn't happen.

Do what you feel is best, there is no reason why you can't miscarry at home, the hospital will keep an eye on you, and if you are worried you can also speak to them.

If things don't progress then they will go through the other options with you.

Its very hard to know what to do, thinking of you x

I'm always so sad to see this thread bumped, my heart goes out to all those who have lost recently, especially skintchick, I hope you find the right path for yourself, worst decision in the world to make :(

On a slightly bright note ladies, tomorrow is my last counselling session and I'm amazed by how much it's helped me. I wish someone would have told me that so I would have had it earlier, so now I'm telling all you ladies. It's worth it if you're offered it, hell I know it's not MSE but it would be worth whatever price if you paid for it. Just to have someone to pour out al your thoughts, especially the 'bad' ones, without feeling guilty or them making 'helpful' comments.

Love to you all. It will get better. It has to x x

This is good to know. I'm just waiting for an appointment to be organised for my first counselling session.

Good news that it has helped you a lot.

Well my hospital visit wasn;t that much help really - they think I should have the ERPC as I am quite far on - but on a positive note I have started spotting. I never thought I'd be pleased to bleed! But at least it is underway and if it does get too bad I can still go in. She did say the sac will be the size of an orange, and the baby (although she flinched when I called it that and preferred to use euphemisms) will be two inches long and to be prepared.

Not much pain as yet, but I think it might take a day or two to really get going.

You are probably right about the timing but be prepared with painkillers, pads etc and for heaven's sake, if you think you might need to go in, just go...the bleeding can be very heavy and painful.

It sounds as if you might feel a bit better emotionally when the bleeding gets properly underway; a missed miscarriage is such a horrible thing because you know it's all still got to happen.

Hope you are feeling supported as far as possible, by people around you and by us here.

    Best wishes
