Miscarriage support

Well, what a day!

Went in completely expecting my thoughts confirmed, at worse finding a eptiopic,

Instead, they found a tiny baby/bean WITH a heartbeat!! (internal scan to find it) I could not believe it & she showed me, I could see it - just, & little beat.
BUT she said something about an 'attempted' miscarriage. The sac is coming/has come away from the wall. Its still attached, but not completely. There is a hemotoma' ? a cluster of blood inside me, that may come out (brown) or be re-absorbed.

I asked whats happens now& she said the midwife would explain more.

Mw said 'I've seen your scan, everything looks fine' I said about the sac pulling away & she didn't seem to know about that. Looked through notes & said she'll see me in 2 wks for another scan.

I asked if there was anything I can do or take (hormones?) to help keep it in there. She said no, just rest, no heavy lifting etc.

I also asked about having no symptoms & she said thats fine also.

I really don't know how to feel, I want to be happy, my baby has a heartbeat! BUT how long for? This must mean I'm high risk for a miscarriage, or I'm in early stages of mc? This is going to be a long and emotional process!

Of people who have bleeding but a heartbeat is then seen on a scan, only 10% subsequently miscarry which is lower than the average. This must be very stressful for you - I hope it turns out well.

See... I am so glad to be right on this occasion.. and sending every spare sticky dot vibe I can muster!

Having seen the hb you are at lower risk of miscarrying (1:3 reduced to about 1:10) ALL pregnancies are long and emotional.. I bet you wake up tomorrow or the day after feeling rough as dogs... I found all symptoms disappeared once I convinced myself I had miscarried.. and came back as soon as I knew all was ok..

There is never a guarantee you will get to full term but focus on the fact today, right now, all is as it should be!

MSM: Wonderful news!!! I bet you are terrified right now! take the advice and dont do too much. When I got preg again straight after my m\c I had no symptoms till around 8 weeks. Just go with it. Thinking of you x

Thanks everyone, I want so much to be happy but just too scared! This feels like torture & theres a good chance of the same outcome! I'm walking around like I'm 9months gone, all bent over, pulling myself up! lol!

Been taking it easy today, lets see how long that lasts in my house!

One weird thing was I was measured at 4weeks, & thats 4weeks since last period. But Digi said 3+ weeks last weekend & that would be theoretically 1-2 weeks after period was conception, then 3+weeks until test, shouldn't I be 5-6 weeks?

I'm going to stick here rather than <12wks as threatened miscarriage is borderline between the two. I can't deal with all the happy (yet moany) people on there yet! Let me know if u want to boot me off!

the accuracy of scans before 6/7 weeks is negligible and all scans are within a week or so leeway.. 3+ means that is how many weeks past ovulation you are but it may well be you have high HcG..

anyway... Stop looking for negative signs.. we are trying to stay positive for now.. all is well today, right now.. so stop it! *slappy wristies*

I was a moaner in my time in <12weeks & if I make it past 12 I will be able to moan about my achy bits then, but now I'll be happy (ish)

Also don't want to upset/worry others whose pg is ok.
