So sorry MSM, I know its just horrible. I too have now had 2 on the trot after having DD 6 years ago. The Drs have just said its unlucky and as Ive already have one theres no reason to be unhopeful. Doesnt really help at all though I know, but once my hormones settled down and Ive now had 2 normal periods Im ready to try again and see what will be. Hang in there, :hugs:

So sorry MSM xxx our EPU won't scan before 7 weeks - how many weeks do you think you might be? I had a very early loss at 5 weeks (not classed as a miscarriage, as no evidence of pregnancy could be seen on a scan - they called it a chemical pregnancy) and physically it was nothing like as bad as my later losses, I was surprised at how much difference just a few weeks can make.
  • Going by the digi test, I should be 6weeks, maybe a few days over. Will they attempt as I cannot be sure of dates? Just want it confirmed so I can move on. I'm 95%sure I'm mc'n, just don't want the dreaded 'hope' to build up.

Yeah, physically I'm expecting this to be just a bad period.

Would an internal scan not show more? Had one at end of mc, to look for 'bits leftover' & they were able to see a small clot?

*edit* also last time thought I was 10, but had only got to 8, this time could just be 4wk little bag of cells, just they're still in there?

MSM, when I had my first MMC a nurse told me our EPU will only scan if you're over 7 weeks, which I was that time, but second time I was only 6 weeks but my Dr said as it was so close to the first he would refer me to make sure it had all gone. EPU were really good, and I did have some small bits left to pass, but as I was still bleeding when they scanned me they said they were sure they'd come away, they also tested my bloods too. If you can ring you're own Dr tomorrow and ask to speak over the phone with them to see what they suggest. (our EPU wont see you until a Dr has refered you anyway).

EPU here is 6 weeks and the gp has to refer.. which is impossible at my surgery ggrrrr...

At 6 weeks the chances are they will see a sac.. about 1cm across.. possibly the fetal pole and yolk sac but not much else... if they see the sac and nothing else it means nothing.. mine is here on my lap.. she was a bubble.. we went back the next week and there she was hb and everything.. Squeak! The only reason they didn't do the erpc that first scan was it was new year, they were rammed to the rafters with old ladies with broken bones who had fallen on the ice and they were on skeleton staff. A small bleed at 6 weeks is usual.. this is when the placenta starts its job and the tiny tiny blood vessels aren't always that good and cause the implantation bleed. I bleed at 4 weeks when AF is due, 6 weeks from placenta and 10-12 weeks when the placenta takes over fully.. every time. That said, i am 17 weeks and was bleeding a little yesterday too..

  • I'll see if EPU ring me Mon, if I don't hear anything by mid-morning, I'll ring Dr.
No more bleed today. I never felt pg this time, no symptoms except tiredness. No food funnies or poorly b00bs, so not completely surprised.

Just hate how the world shuts down on weekends & I'm stuck in limbo for today!
I hope I can get a scan, whatever it is (guessing human, but size wise) it's still in there.
OH seems more effected this time, last timeI didn't get much reaction, now he seems shocked. He can't believe this could happen again.

Just to be contrary as usual the only time I felt ill when pregnant was when something was not right. and symptoms vary so wildly between each that they really are not accurate to base things on. My boobs were agony with Squeak yet not a twinge this time.. Tiredness is a killer with all mine.. but some were worse than others.. Don't give up on it until you know for certain, you can feel pessimistic about it if you want.. at least then you are unlikely to be disappointed in either case.. I was absolutely convinced some of mine had gone yet here they are!!

    Hello Everyone,

i've been lurking on this board for a while now, and unfortunately, I now have a reason to post albeit in sad circumstances.

My partner's family member has just experienced the loss of a baby at 5 months - so heartbreaking. We were able to see the baby, after she had been born and although I was petrified [goodness knows how the parents felt!] I must admit seeing her brought some peace, as well as sadness to us all.

My partner and I are in our mid 20s, never experienced anything like this before. I am trying my best to support him and his family as best I can; however, i really don't know how. We're going to get her a wee something ready for the funeral - does anyone have any ideas though?

I really feel for you all and I've done nothing but think of you all today and of the little baby we've lost from our family. xx

    Hi alipops,
Sorry to hear this very sad news. What a rotten thing to happen.
I understand it must have been frightening going to see the baby, especially when you didn't know what to expect at all. Well done you for being brave - hope it will help everyone to grieve and to support the baby's parents.
I wasn't sure what you were asking - are you thinking of getting something for the baby's mother? The question didn't quite make it clear. Maybe you could let us know any ideas you'd had so far.

    MsB
  • I'd say some flowers now, & maybe book yourselves in for a spa day next month?
Theres nothing I'd love more right now than to be pampered & preened to feel womanly again! I've really let myself go since last mc, and with another happening I'm going to look like Susan Boyle by the summer!

Spa's don't have kids, it's just peaceful, tranquil & relaxing. Ohhh massage....

An update on me, more brown water stuff today, mild cramps constantly, not painful, more uncomfortable.
Had 2-3 painful twinges on left side which worries me about eptopic. Hopefully EPU will ring me 1st thing, as these side things make me feel more urgent about it all!

Little boy asked me when we're going to have a baby again (he knew about last pg &mc, not this time)
I said soon, I promise. He said 'Get daddy to rub your tummy tonight & u can get a baby in there!'
Bless him, nearly cried at that, but daren't start as I won't stop! :(
