So far, NJ has been much, much nicer than NY !!!!!!
Clearly, you haven't been to Wildwood, NJ, which was described by another poster on here before our trip as 'like the armpit of Blackpool'. Google for images ... then populate the images with Americans ... LOTS of Americans. They were lovely, but ...

On our way into NJ,due to roadworks we were routed via the Bronx.
As first impressions go, it wasn't exactly p o positive !

Off to pick up the Waterbus to get to the Intrepid after breakfast.

I don't know if it would be within your feasible radius or not, but the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a very nice part of New Jersey.

Has anyone used a NY Pass recently?

I'd read online that you could use the pass for the same attraction so long as the visits were on separate days, but now I've spotted on the FAQs of the NY Pass website that it can only be used once per attraction.

Kind of scuppers the plans to go to both towers at day and night.

I've e-mailed NY Pass just to clarify, but wondered if anyone had recent experience of this?

We've been looking at passes for our September trip. The only pass that we saw that allowed any second trip was the CityPASS which allows an evening trip up the ESB.

We've decided to go for the New York Explorer 5 attractions which doesn't include repeat trips, but I think we will do TOTR at night instead of the daytime.

    Empire State Building and Rockefeller.

Do you really need to visit both day and night? I'd personally just go to the Empire State Building during the day, then the Rockefeller at night (so you can see the Empire State Building lit up).

While I've only been to the Rockefeller, I can't imagine the views are radically different - they're very close together.

I'd suggest daytime, dusk and night.

    It's three very different views.

(Not the most MSE approach though)

Thank you for the suggestion John, but it was a bit outside our area, in the short time that we had -- it looks gorgeous.
