Will do.

I've seen this in a few menus I've been looking at, good idea.

East Village - head to DBA.
Not been to Bierhaus, but I rarely get above 14th Street these days. Ginger Man on 34th (I think) is a good place to visit, as is Blind Tiger on Bleecker Street. Oktoberfest - well, as it is already finished, I think you'll struggle (Oktoberfest isn't the month of October, it runs from 21st Sept - 6th Oct). You may still get some Pumpkin beers though.
Cheers, I've saved the above bars on google maps, Bleecker Street is another area I was wanting to check out.
What I was meaning with Oktoberfest beers left over is, the pub Bier Halle in Glasgow, they get Oktoberfest beers in around this time of year due to the brewers making it for Oktoberfest, Beers of Europe website is the same, but it doesn't last long!
Time to get back to the Itinerary
If you go to beer bars, just ask for samples and recommendations, most places are more than willing to help. Move away from your safe beers, try a Porter or a Stout (and ignore the fact they're dark). They've got great flavour.

Hi, What a brilliant thread - found our such a lot of useful stuff. My friend and I are off to NYC for a week in 8 days time. She is a veggie - can anyone recommend any veggie restaurants? We are staying near the Hell's Kitchen area and are on a bit of a budget, so can't go mad food wise.
Thanks...;)Weight loss - here we go again - watch this space!

It's more for people who are wanting an idea of where they want to go in terms of prices. Quite a wide range of prices on there. I'm also a vegetarian and my friend is not, so obviously there'll be no turkey for me0 -

Are you wanting to go to an all vegetarian/vegan restaurant? Or just somewhere that has vegetarian options?0 -

This is a link to my New York Google maps.

The pink/red pins are places that sell food, most of them either vegan or vegan friendly. The Blossom Du Jour on 9th Ave near 44th St is vegan. It is mostly take away but does have a counter with some stools near the window (looking out at the Westway Diner, which appeared several times in the first series of Smash). For a fine dining restaurant experience we loved "Vnote" in the upper east side, a vegan restaurant. Not cheap though.
And for vegan ice cream, Lula's in the East village is divine.
Terri on 23rd Ave, near 6th Ave is probably the next nearest to Hell's Kitchen of our collection - again a counter rather than restaurant. They do great vegan sandwiches.
We have not been to all the places we marked. I'm afraid there seems to be something of a hole in our map around Hell's kitchen.
New York is great for veggie/vegan eating.0 -
I wonder if others would be interested in sharing their New York Google Maps (see my above post)? I would be interested in seeing them.0
