Roof Top Bars tend to be closed in November.

Oh, I did not know this. I'm there 11th - 15th Nov & a factor in our choice of hotel, the Refinery, was its rooftop bar which is meant to be great. Is this common amongst all/most the bars or would we need to check each individually?

The Gansevoort Park Avenue or Meatpacking district roof top bars should be open as they have a pool open all year round.

Edit - 230 Fifth is also open all year round its heated and they also provide warm coats

Struggling a bit to find anything affordable regarding a hotel in the meatpacking district, New York around Christmas. Tried Top10.com, Trivago as well as others, but nothing suitable remotely in my budget - ideally $50-$100 (max) a night. Any ideas?

So you want a hotel in one of most expensive places for hotels at one of the most expensive times of year for $50 to $100you have zero chance getting what you want for that money

I'm travelling with work but added a weekend without realising just how expensive it would be in Dec 7-9th.

I'd like to be quite central and want en-suite, but don't need much else. Any thoughts?

Also, what chance is there that the rates will drop between now and then?

    Thanks, in advance.

Can anyone suggest an app to download that will work offline if we need a map?

I downloaded the tripadvisor city guide. (They have them for certain major cities.)

Seriously was really impressed with it- loved that it showed all the attractions etc, and was FREE!
