Mintedmatty, if they have them in store during your visit, Bloomingdales had lots of lovely Christmas decorations last year. I was rather excited there seeing everything related to the holidays0

For Tuesday we plan to go up to see everything Central Park area and further 'up' Upper West/East Side. Included is the Met, Strawberry Fields, The Guggenheim, Pomander Walk, Dakota Building, Friedsam Carousel, Belvedere Castle, Lincoln Centre and Bloomingdales etc.
In the Evening we have booked the Brooklyn Brewery Tour then tickets for the Brooklyn Nets Basket Ball at the arena in Brooklyn.
On the Wednesday we are hoping to do everything 'Times Square' including Empire State, The Rock, New York Public Library, Chrysler, Grand Central Station, Flat Iron building, Paley Park, Macys Etc.
On the Thursday at our hotel we can hire bikes so hoping to cycle the southern stretch of the green route on the map link below
Also for Thursday possibly Roosevelt Island, Wall Street, Battery Park, High Line (The High Line I am possibly most excited about the whole trip) The Ghostbusters Firehouse (Childhood dream to see it - See also Friends TV show Apartment)
Then we have allday Friday to catch up on anything we may have missed before flying out around 6pm ish. I have a long list of roof top bars, pubs etc and places to eat but all recommendations welcome! Will definitely be making a trip to Abercrombie, Carhartt and the Onitsuka Tiger shop.
Finally, would anybody know the best place to get a New York Themed Christmas Tree decoration? Bit of a family tradition!
Thanks for this, this will help me build our 5 day itinerary!
Any chance you could share your list of roof top bars, pubs and places to eat?
From reading the previous pages I've noted:

Anyway, I decided to book it yesterday and paid £560 each for flights MAN to JFK. Not sure if this is a good price for May but it's done now so I'm not looking anymore!
Although Manchester Airport is the closest airport to us we'll be looking to fly from Heathrow. I've heard the MAN to JFK planes aren't that great. BA codeshare with AA on this route and they fly the Boeing 757-200. The seats are only grouped in 3's and there's no personal IFE which is important to us.0 -
Are there any surcharge free ATMs in Manhattan?
I've got Halifax Clarity but have found some regions/states (in the US) have surcharge free machines and others seem to have none! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Halifax don't have any relationship with any US bank, so it's pot luck if you can find a fee free one. Try Sovereign, or TD Bank first.0
