Fantastic. I always find you can get some good bargains on Ba. Hope you have good flight times too.

I have used passes on any of my trips, only because I only do a few things to I have something to see for the next trip.

I'm sure others on here will be able to advise.

Have you sorted any guide books? If you want to get your OH a NYC keepsake - I recommend one of these (Moleskine Diary) - I have recommended on here before - I love them comes with me on every trip.

Thanks. I was thinking a guide book (probably lonely planet). Is Moleskine just a notebook or is a guide book?

    Thanks

Its notebook, but it has spaces to write addresses etc and has a map inside which you can mark the locations you want to go to. Also has a pocket for keepsakes - Ha ha can you tell I love mine..? :D I found it good as had 4 guidebooks so was able to transfer bits over into it.

That looks nice! I have a separate book for my NYC scribbles!

I bought the below after reading some recommendations on here:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Black-Book-York-Edition/dp/1441313532/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379935305&sr=8-1&keywords=black+book+new+york

Forgot to mention-each chapter covers a neighbourhood(s) and has a foldout map for each, so its really clear to see where things are in relation to bigger tourist attractions...

I've read through it once completely and pinned loads of things in google maps. As the travel date gets closer (79 days to go) I will re-read the book and look up more info on the web with regards to specific neighbourhoods that we would like to explore..

I love making New York plans! *sighs*

23-27th Nov, Intercontinental Barclay! Looks nice and I am happy with the price I paid.

I have been looking into attraction passes, What would you guys suggest? As I know you can get many attractions on the same pass and save some money.

    Thanks.

The only attraction passes that I recommend is the GO Select, as you choose your attractions, and gain a discount. A lot of the other ones, you end up doing things you wouldn't normally do, but feel obliged to to get the best out of the pass.

It's always best to list the attractions you want to do, not overload yourself, and then look at prices and discounts before you jump in for a pass..

I personally think so yes - we did both in a day - the evening was at the TOTR and it was nice to be able to see back to the ESB - I also felt like the presentation of the event was much slicker in the TOTR...

Agree TOTR all the way. I was very disappointed with ESB.
I haven't been to Liberty Island yet, but took a lovely boat tour hop on hop off river taxi
Edit - Try and coincide TOTR with sunset - beautiful :)

I've done both. I think the view is better from TOTR, you get the Empire State in the pictures, and Central Park. It is nice to do Empire State, but I wouldn't do both.

Would you recommend the crown? It seems like its only $3 more?

Yes, we also have PO and Santander Zero, but one year my DH used the Clarity card (by mistake ) to pay for something at the airport before we flew :wall:.
And I don't think cash advances count towards the £300 minimum spend.

We have joint PO credit cards that stay firmly in our travel wallets and are only used abroad. We don't withdraw cash whilst over there as you get a better rate in the UK.
