Ok, slightly more confused. If I want as near to a normal credit card, where I can pay it off at the end of the month with no charges, which is the better option?
Then, for cash withdrawals which would I need? Although I'm
Wondering how many cash withdrawals I'd actually do if everywhere takes cards. I could just take dollars with me x
I would try and avoid cash withdrawals whilst over there, as you say, just take a few dollars. Why pay the $2 or whatever charge - no need. Post Office card doesn't charge for transactions - think there may be a couple of others on here too including Halifax Clarity as already mentioned. - check Martin's guide.0 -
Just catching up on here. I'd agree with the food comments on The View - mediocre is a good word to describe it and the buffet a complete bun fight! Just go and have a nice glass of fizz and enjoy one revolution, IMHO. Love the quote of other tall buildings in the way, but sort of get what they mean - dull banks etc, perhaps, LOL!
Also agree that TOTR is better than ESB and don't see the point in doing both although understand some people want to be able to say they've been up it.
Hadn't thought about ordering online for delivery to hotel - like that idea! I use a yopmail account to sign up to all my favourite stores' promo emails and they'll send you vouchers to use instore. Think Macy's opens at something crazy like 3am on Black Friday, if you're really keen! :rotfl:0 -
We have joint PO credit cards that stay firmly in our travel wallets and are only used abroad. We don't withdraw cash whilst over there as you get a better rate in the UK.
No, you get the interbank rate on cash withdrawals, the same as on purchases - even with a $2 or $3 charge it's still a better rate than you'd get exchanging cash in the UK on the same day
It's possible you might get a better rate changing it in the UK if the rate drops between changing your money and your trip, but not otherwise.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I think macys opened at midnight last year. I didn't end up buying anything there, nothing that I was overly interested in and we'd done so much shopping already I was too tired to look around for things I didn't actually need lol. If you're going Black Friday shopping it's better to know what you want before hand and then go straight for it.0

Do you have any recommendations for Ski gear, jacket and sallopettes, I would really like to buy some Spyder stuff on Black Friday.
Have decided to go watch the ballons being inflated the day before the parade and watch the parade on TV, is that coping out?

Hey everyone,
I have been reading the Original Everything&Anything New York thread and of course this one from the start.
A lot of people have referred to hotelconnexions to book their NYC accomdation-however Google takes me to the following:
http://www.hotelconnexions.com/
which happens to be a website for booking hotels in the UK-can someone please provide me with a link for the correct website?
Thanks

I think the originally recommended hotelconnxions link died a while back ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Not something I would know, but I used https://www.bfads.net last year for their forum and they also released all the ads as they came along, it was very useful so you should check it out! I also got a few papers on landing at the airport to go through the ads so that's another tip
Good idea! I've heard its a lot of standing around so if that's not your thing then maybe it's best just to watch it on tv0 -

Have to disagree re The View. We found the food to be superb and the service was fantastic.0
