Has anyone stayed at, or got an opinion on the Broadway Plaza Hotel?0

If you're booking a hotel, there is a good chance it is legal, but there are still a number of illegal hotels that operate, however, these are of the lower quality kind.
If it is an apartment rental, there is a very very high chance it is illegal. Not many are legal, and also there are so many scams around on some websites too. Bait & Switch is a common tactic too. It's just too risky IMO.
Best thing to do, post it here, I'll check, and you'll have peace of mind.
We're looking at maybe staying at one of these hostels. Are they legit?

TD Bank didn't charge when we were in NY last October so they could be a good one to start with. They have plenty of branches in Manhattan but I don't know about anywhere else (they are a Canadian bank)
Chase tried to charge $3 but at least they warned you of the charge in advance and gave the option to cancel.0 -

the first is perfectly legal. Second one, after looking into it, is legal too.
Location of both could be the main debate, personally I'd rather be in Brooklyn, as that is where I mainly hang out...

Going to New York on Thu and trying to find out about free ATMs. Anyone got any ideas?
I know you're all asking about it in very recent posts, but I thought I'd ask again, in case someone new happens to be reading this
Also, am I right in thinking, if every time I take cash out on my Clarity card, if I jump online at the hotel that night, and transfer money onto the card from home, I'll not pay the 12.9%?
I think someone said something about not being able to preload that card?0 -

I replied to your other post but just came across this.
Last October we found that TD Bank were free (they are a Canadian bank) whereas Chase were charging $3.
There were plenty of TD branches in Manhattan.
You can't preload the Clarity card but there is nothing to stop you transferring funds as soon as the entry appears on your statement.
Have a good time.0 -

The interest is calculated as soon as the money is taken out. If you time it right, you'll end up paying maybe 1 days interest.
I'd personally get some cash, and use the card for purchases, or you'll waste time trying to move money around online.
Another bank I found that was free for ATM withdrawals was Sovereign Bank. It's part of Santander, but didn't charge me anything when I withdrew money from my MetroBank account.
