You need to check with the airline to ascertain whether they'll allow him to fly then, if they say no, contact your travel insurance. They should be able to advise you what they need (eg doctor's certificate etc) to process a claim. Best case scenario they may cover accomodation as well as new flights but policies vary hugely and without seeing your policy no-one can really tell you.

Hope your son isn't feeling too awful :)

    Hi guys

My husband would like to see a sporting vent but I'm guessing we've left if way too lat for this?

    Thank you :)

You'll have no luck with basketball either, no New York based teams are left in this seasons playoffs.

p.s. basketball isn't the dullest game on the planet.

We arrive 10pm at JFK Friday evening and are flying out Saturday at 2.45pm, any suggestions for where to stay the Friday night, we really enjoy brunch so was thinking of somewhere not too far from JFK for great brunch on Saturday morning.

    TIA.

Deffo a airport hotel then such a short turnaround . Airport Hotels are fairly cheap i would go onto a lastminute or similar website and get the bet offered with a decent brekkie included

It is a tricky one, and a very tight timescale. If you didn't want brunch, then just stay in a hotel near the airport.
As you're wanting some good food, then you really can't stay in an airport hotel, they're just not convenient. None of them are on the airport themselves, all are a bus/taxi ride away, and Airport hotels are like a prison cell, there is nothing nearby, and you're stuck inside them, so stuck with their limited dining choices.

As you don't say if a flight is internal or international it makes it a bit more difficult. There are loads of places for Brunch in Williamsburg, and at 10pm at night, will only take about 30 mins in a taxi to get there. Hotel Le Jolie is a good reasonably priced hotel, but depends if that 2:45pm flight is an international departure, whether you've got enough time for brunch.

Thanks, the 2.45pm flight is a JetBlue domestic, so we may just have enough time.

    Hi,

What is considered a reasonable price for a flight from Heathrow to JFK in October? The last time I was in NYC was in 2010 and at that time, paying between £350-£380 was considered very reasonable. I recall M4RKM used to have a brief price guide for flights in his signature, which I found very useful at the time.

Naturally, the prices are higher now and October is a popular time to travel. I’ve found a flight with Virgin Atlantic for approximately £444 and one with Delta for £430. Is this considered a good price? Is it worth waiting to see whether prices will drop?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, thank you. We are using calamine lotion and he is fine but he is really covered with spots. We are flying back to London on Wednesday evening and Im pretty sure his face will be all spotty. Me and my other son had them already long time ago. I really need us fly back home, I dont know what to do - I dont think he will be contagious but what happens if they say no? Will they just leave us in the airport? For how long? Im so worried. Thank you.
So, did you escape or are you still there?

I went in March and paid £400 for a return flight with Delta. If you're getting a price of £430 for October, I'd snap that up right away. There isn't much point paying more for Virgin, considering they offer less legroom...
