Richard Thomas (Johnboy Walton) - Times Square

All in the same day, on a separate trip:
Frank Lampard Jnr - Meatpacking district
    Tinie Tempah - Soho
    Alice Cooper - Union Square

I would like to join in. 1976 (I know, but i dont travel often :D ) Muhammad Ali and his entourage in Queens

its from jfk to amsterdam ave, think taxi will be too expensive and hes never been before so don't know much about public transport

Still far too vague. Help us to help you. If you don't give us the right information, you won't get the right help.

Amsterdam Avenue is around 6 miles long, so I could easily give help and get your son to the wrong area. Is it a hotel? Hostel? Is it even legal!

A shuttle service isn't recommended, because it will just take too long. What is best is Public Transportation, but to be able to help, we need to know where he is going.

Public Transport is the cheapest way to get around, and from JFK to somewhere on the Subway, the total cost should be $7.50.

A car service / taxi is one of the most expensive and will cost around $70

Lower East Side - hints and tips for us?

Booked a Hotel on Hotwire which is here. Happy with that, as it's our third trip and we wanted to be in a different location to where we've stayed before which was 34th Street once, Times Sq 2nd time. With 2 adults and 2 children and a relatively low budget we were a bit constrained. Did check out the Long Island hotels but they were even more expensive.

(sorry, just a little preamble about why we are at LES).

Aside from Katz Deli, what other don't miss Things should we look for? Already planning to have a good wander around SoHo, Greenwich Village again (love it there).

We've already done most of the standard NYC tourist things, so I'm looking for the less usual stuff.

We only have two nights, arrive 2pm from Las Vegas on the Thursday and leave 7pm on the Saturday. So want to cram in as much as possible.

    Thanks
    Karen

Hi all, I need urgent help. We have arrived to New York last night and my 8 year old son got all spotty - definitely has got chicken pox. I gave him paracetamol and he is feeling fine, had a good sleep. But the spots are itchy. I have no idea what yo do or where to go, we staying in Long Island hotel. I want to buy a lotion we use in England and hope he will be ok. We are changing the plans to avoid crowded areas but what else should I do? Please advice me - if u had a similar experience before. Thank you.

    Hi guys

Am after a little advice please?

I am travelling to New York on Friday 31st with my husband and another couple to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday. We arrive at JFK at about 1:30pm on 31st and depart on 3rd at around 10:00pm, so are very tight for time but want to make sure we get he most out of the trip - any guidance would be most welcome.

We would like to do the include the following in our trip:
    Empire State Building
    Statue of Liberty
    Top of the rock
    Brooklyn bridge
    Catch a broadway show
    A little bit of shopping
My husband would like to see a sporting vent but I'm guessing we've left if way too lat for this?

Are we missing anything? What is the most logical way of seeing thing?

Would also appreciate any recommendations for any restaurants and bars, nothing too flash but still nice.

    Thank you :)

Calamine lotion - I think you need a drugstore? But maybe a pharmacy? You could also ask for antihistamine tablets. Ask the hotel reception where you'd go to get such things.

When are you due to fly back, and have the rest of your party had it?

And just relaxing, not running around like a headless tourist :rotfl:
