Hi
Advice needed
-Anybody heard of clever hotels booking site, can they be trusted.
-looking to book flights from Manchester / Newcastle or Glasgow to New York for 5 nights dept date from 9th Dec to 13th need to be home 19th at the latest, don't mind direct or 1 change in europe.
Thanks in advance
Nope, never heard of "clever hotels"
Expedia, Booking.com, QuikBook, Travelzoo - these are the sites that at a minimum I use. Personally, the latter two, plus the hotels own website is what I do use.
If you're looking for December 2013, I think you're looking a bit too early for hotels and flights. See what your flight prices are looking at on kayak, and bear in mind, if you have your trip later in the month (nearer to christmas), then hotel prices are cheaper. You do need to ensure you have a saturday night stay to make flight prices cheaper.0 -

I'm doing something similar. Had the Wythe Hotel, Brooklyn Side Queen Room booked for 4 nights from Feb 27th, at $1104 inc taxes. I'm now changing to the King & Grove Williamsburg, for a 5 night stay, in a deluxe King room with Balcony, starting from Feb 26th, and that's only costing me $1082. If I wanted a comparable room, I could look at paying as low as $940 for 5 nights, but might as well upgrade the room to a 5 night stay.
January - March is when you CAN get some good bargains.0 -
Looking for a hotel with a great view for my honeymoon in October. The Trump SoHo has caught my eye, has anyone stayed there?
Or does anyone have any other recommendations?0 -
Finally I've got my next trip to New York City booked.
5 Nights from Tuesday 26th February - Sunday 2nd March. Got a decent rate at the King & Grove Williamsburg and a King Room with Balcony booked in.
Flying Delta from London Heathrow in Economy Comfort (was only £98 extra). Base price of flight was £409.
As it happens, it's NYC Beer Week when I'm out there...

King and Grove looks nice. So does the Trump Soho - pricey though.
I'm tearing my hair out with hotel choice in NY - too many!
i've read about the smell of smoke in some hotels.. Seems NYC hotels can be smoking too?0 -

King and Grove Manhattan is nice. And the Gansevoort Park Avenue, however I didn't have any views with those.
The hotel in which I have had the BEST view was Affinia Dumont. 27th Floor overlooking the Chrysler building. Just amazing, I'll try and put a pic on here!0 -
I'm not the best photographer ha ha but it was really amazing for me to see every morning and evening!0
