Re Trump Soho - I walked past there once and found it to be to far away from amenities (comparing to where I have stayed before)

I'd love to know what amenities you mean bb69...

There is a subway stop, a starbucks, a duane reade, a dunkin donuts, an amazing restaurant (at least one, citywinery), a pizza place, a park, a bus stop, a mcdonalds, all within half a mile. I could easily go on, but I'm confused to what amenities are not near by this and many other hotels in the same area.

Soho is a lovely area, much more picturesque with plenty of shops, and boutiques too. I could probably even find a decent bar to drink in too!

We leave three weeks tomorrow! Think we have all decided on our personal must sees, I just need to get some warmer clothes and dig out all my spare camera batteries.

Have been doing lots of Google Mapping with suggested routes to help see what is near to each other, am hoping that will help. Next stop will be noting down some family friendly restaurants for our travels.

I am used to having things across the road or close by e.g supermarket, and didn't notice it with Trump Soho (I'm sure that's the one we passed one day) that's all. So comparing that to where I usually stay it was different. I did say it was personal preference.

I love Soho too and spend most of my time there, but wouldn't necessarily want to stay there.

W Hotel thoughts? It's across the street from the Waldorf Astoria.

I have never stayed there, but would like to. They have quite a few. I have always fancied the Times Square one, purely for view or the Union Square one.

U any closer on narrowing down choices?

Going in March. Around the £200 mark per night - maybe a bit extra is the budget. Want luxury but don't want to pay for it :) Ideally not to too stuffy and old fashioned decor. I like the idea of a nice lobby and bar.
Views would be great. I'd like to be near to a lot of the tourist attractions, but not right on times square. Near somewhere to eat - prefer somewhere to be in walking distance.

I was looking at the Carlton (marriot), but it says rooms are small and not too sure about the position - would prefer higher up. - but it should be ok.

Not sure where the Carlton is. Have you looked at King and Grove Manhattan? I stayed there before. Again a nice location, decent size rooms.

Thanks for the help bb69. I have looked at king and grove yes. bathroom seemed tiny. apart from that nice though. The Carlton is a mariott - madison ave. problem is I keep trawling trip advisor where every hotel has bad comments or a scary photo... people who move a side board to take a photo of some dust ha ha.
