Finally I've got my next trip to New York City booked.
5 Nights from Tuesday 26th February - Sunday 2nd March. Got a decent rate at the King & Grove Williamsburg and a King Room with Balcony booked in.
Flying Delta from London Heathrow in Economy Comfort (was only £98 extra). Base price of flight was £409.
As it happens, it's NYC Beer Week when I'm out there...

Last time we went it was for our wedding and we were going elsewhere in the states afterwards so it made more sense to book individually but I cant seem to beat this price.

bb69 looks gorgeous, though am i right in saying it looks far away from the centre? Geez, I know i'm never going to pick anything at this rate am I
I've really got my fingers crossed for a cheeky upgrade wherever we go too. Its a wedding anniversary0 -

I will. Thursday I'm going to be booking the NYC Brewers Choice event which is a good few hours of beer, matched foods, and loads of brewers talking about their beers...He wouldnt have booked if he knew it was beer week.. Too late now ..enjoy your trip
It would be cheaper anyway!!bb69 looks gorgeous, though am i right in saying it looks far away from the centre? Geez, I know i'm never going to pick anything at this rate am I
But is it near a Subway Station? That is the KEY thing you need to ask. I'm staying in Brooklyn, and I'll get to some areas of NYC quicker from there, than anyone would from Times Square. Nothing is truly in the "centre" as everything is so spread out.
Check the Subway maps on mta.info and find out if you can get to where you want to be.. That is the MOST important thing.

It so was! There was a problem with our room on the 1st night so we stayed at their sister hotel (also lovely) so they kindly said they would sort me a lovely room and boy did they deliver! This hotel has suites with kitchens too which was very handy.
You can book skyview suites from the outset to be guaranteed a view too.
No near everything! (well most things as impossible to be near it all) Actually on 34th Street and Lexington Avenue and so most places walkable (depending on how keen on walking you are!) - A few blocks from shopping on 5th Avenue, Empire State Building, Times Square. I walked everywhere and loved every minute!
There are so many to choose from. Re Trump Soho - I walked past there once and found it to be to far away from amenities (comparing to where I have stayed before) but its just a personal thing
What are you looking for in a hotel? When are you going and what's your budget?0 -
Going in March. Around the £200 mark per night - maybe a bit extra is the budget. Want luxury but don't want to pay for it
Ideally not to too stuffy and old fashioned decor. I like the idea of a nice lobby and bar.
Views would be great. I'd like to be near to a lot of the tourist attractions, but not right on times square. Near somewhere to eat - prefer somewhere to be in walking distance.
I was looking at the Carlton (marriot), but it says rooms are small and not too sure about the position - would prefer higher up. - but it should be ok.0 -
W Hotel thoughts? It's across the street from the Waldorf Astoria.0
