Anyway
front runners:
Carlton Autograph (mariott)
One of the Affinia's , but not "50"
king and Grove
Gansevoort Park Avenue
Personally, I'd go with the Gansevoort Park Ave (actually, I'd go with the other Gansevoort, as the location is better).
Mondrian Soho, Hotel on Rivington, Smyth Tribeca, All these are other great hotels.
King and Grove New York - I'm not convinced. This used to be a hotel called Thirty-Thirty, then changed to Lola, and then changed to K&G. Now, if you're going for one of the larger rooms, but some of the rooms are small.0 -
Is Stub Hub entirely kosher and backed up with a guarantee like similar sites in the UK are?
I was looking at Yankee's tickets. They aren't on sale for the season yet but I'm guessing people are selling season ticket games they don't want......0 -
Damn, exchange rate for the dollar is dropping like a lead balloon! Please go up to 1.60 + !0

Hi All,
4 weeks and 6 days to go not that I'm excited or anything!!!
I was ideally after some hand holding am intending to get the Air Train from JFK on arrival. Now think I have to get this to Jamacia and then subway to our Hotel (The Wellington) know there's a subway right outside it but can't remember which one!!! Please can a wonderful person (or several) tell me where I catch the Airtrain from? I know where the stand is for the shuttle buses but am trying to be brave! and then what happens when I get to Jamacia? Is it just off one train onto another? Please can someone hold my hand and guide me from stepping off the plane to arriving at hotel. Thank you all so much.0 -

Cool.
I was just a little nervous because tickets are not yet on sale for individual games. But I see from the Yankees T&Cs that season ticket holders are allowed to sell their seats.
They are also cheaper than the listed prices so it seemed to good to be true.0 -

Gansevoort Park Avenue
I have stayed at 3/4 on the list!
My order (personal preference and reasons )
1) Gansevoort Park Avenue
Pros:
Roof top pool heated and lovely in all weathers. Rooftop bar/club
Large room
Large bathroom modern decor,
Business centre with 2 computers.
Continental Breakfast
Cons:
Apparently the hotel can be noisy, other guests and sometimes rooftop bar (according to the TA reviews I read) but personally we did not experience any and the best sleep I have had in NYC! We stayed on the 10th floor towards the back.
2) Affinia Dumont or Shelburne (stayed one night here)
Pros:
View from Dumont not guaranteed though unless you book a skyview room, you can ask but again not guranteed
Kitchen in Dumont
Large rooms in both hotels.
Cons: Internet charge and no business centre in the Dumont, wasn't at Shelburne long enough.
3) King and Grove Manhattan
Pros:
Stayed when it was hotel ThirtyThirty but the rooms were being refurbished then. Modern rooms but with delicate handles etc. Large rooms (we didn't request those so just luck maybe)
Cons:
Had to run water in room for at least 15 minutes before it got hot. Had engineer in more than once who couldn't help.
No mini bar, no fridge in room, no room service.
They got us a limo to ride back to the airport in we didn't know until it was outside ha ha (Not really a con of the hotel I guess... it was the same price as a town car, it was fun but oh the shame when we arrived to JFK getting out and everyone watching ha ha :rotfl::rotfl:)
I have stayed in all as they are in the Murray Hill area, a place I love staying as nearby to most things but also quiet too. The Gansevoort and K&G are literally the next street from each other at 29th and 30th the Dumont at 34th street. The subway is very close.
If you follow the hotels on Twitter and tweet and ask for best rates you should get a discount.
Hope this helps a little. I can give you information re supermarkets and somewhere nice for breakfast/dinner too in the area
Edit - Also contact people who have reviewed on TA if you are concerned. That's what I did especially with the Gansevoort and was reassured by the responses I got. Although some elements will vary depending on guests staying in any hotel noisewise. Staff at all hotels were very friendly and helpful.0 -
Thank you bb69 and Mark so much.
May I just add one more to the listThe Royalton .. ?
I'll follow them all on twitter - good tip0 -
