Well on the plus side least its inbound and not your outbound flight better an extra night in New York than London and missing some of your holiday. fingers crossed for you everything goes to plan!

Hi all. I'll be arriving at 11.10pm and staying at a hotel in Queens. I haven;t decided yet whether to taxi a taxi or the subway.

If I take a taxi, is it better to pre book and with who? None of the shared shuttle services go to Queens :(.

I believe its a fixed price from the airport in a cab, take a look at Tripadvisor, think its $45 +tax & tip ($60)
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

I thought that fixed rate was only if you were going into the city its self?
You can go through Queens to get to the city and the toll is just before you get to the city so OP wont need to pay toll either.

There is a bus service which runs from LGA to penn station or grand central, however it costs about $15 per person so it may be more economical to get a cab from the airport.

You say you're going to 23rd street but 23rd street is approx 2miles long, you need to get in the habit saying your ave and cross street, never assume anyone, especially cabbies, will know the location of hotels etc.

Best metrocard is the 7 day unlimited card which will set ya back $27

hey thanks for this. $27 for a weeks travel card sounds a bargain! I take it I cant just get the bus/tube from La Guardia on my metro card then?
  • We are off to New York on 8th April and return on the 13th (with BA hopefully!!)
I was thinking about suprising the family with a limo ride from hotel back to airport. We are staying at The Embassy Suites, Tribeca.
Can anyone give me an idea of how to go about booking one?Recommendations? Prices? etc

    Thanks
`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.

Try Carmel, Dial 7 and Lincoln Limousines. I was trying to arrange this for 7 of us from the airport but none of them will accept our luggage so it's going to have to be a van.
