If I could get them for £350 I would be over the moon, no idea if that is realistic for end of May time?
You'll be fine - just keep an eye on them and make sure you're signed up to Martin's weekly email as he'll alert you to sales and frequently mentions NY when flight offers are on.
This is a good site for checking available airlines

Drinks were pricey (although usual for posh NYC) around $22 for 2 cocktails but you can have a beer etc. Seemed to attract an after works crowd when we were there.
The boathouse I referred to is the Express Cafe which is in the boathouse but the cafe part. You can still sit inside and eat (sandwiches, pots of chilli, wine and beer available) but it is casual and no need to book which suited us more. You are not directly in front of the lake etc but you can see it still through the posh folk with waiter service and white tablecloths - depends what you want. I preferred a casual walk round the park and a budget lunch and splurge the rest on tea time cocktails!
Caf! sounds good to me!
Just a question on the 230 Fifth Ave - is the lift enclosed do you know? We've got a friend who won't go on a glass lift where she can see what's happening!0 -
Gansevoort is by far the best IMO on that list. Also they do offer "social network" rates, so get yourself on twitter and get some discount.

Thanks very much.
what do you think about the noise levels in the hotel/rooms? I have read mixed reviews on trip advisor
other bits I have read suggest its a lovely hotel. Here's hoping!0 -

Mark do you have recomenndations of bars and eateries around The Cosmopolitan? Mudville 9 and Reade Street Pub I know of but if you've got any others that would be great.
Thanks.
Mudville 9 is by far the best place for wings in town. If you want a traditional (and also expensive) italian restaurant to go to, you can't fault Acapella, which is just on the corner opposite the hotel.
Up the road, and around the corner (a few blocks away) is Tribeca Grill where I had a great meal once, again, worth it if you're splashing out!

No it isn't realistic. I paid £350 for a flight in March 2011, so with the recent increases in fuel costs, and increases in passenger duty, then getting a flight for that cost again will be a tough call. In a busier month like May, it makes it, in my opinion, impossible.
I think you'll be looking around the £425-£450 price range for a flight to NYC in May 2012.

Especially as it's the end of May, as that's half term here, so going to push prices up.0 -
My daughters want to see wicked when we visit end of March, just wondered do you think I'd be better to buy tickets now as I don't want to risk waiting and not getting tickets for that show.
Thanks0 -
Well buy them now then ! If you have your flights and hotel booked and in good health and a good chance you wont cancell at the last minute no worries . Personally if you have a small window to see a busy often sold out show like wicked .I would book it rather than be disappointed and regret not booking. Enjoy NYC & Wicked is Wicked. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
