  • Hi, Will be travelling to New York for a few days next week (Thurs to Sun). Would like to go to a good Night Club while we are there. Does anyone know of any good clubs which aren't too expensive and are close to Times Square. Also, what's the dress code?
    Thanks

The problem with Times Square, is that the nightlife is aimed at tourists, and there really are not any nightclubs that are close.

What you probably need to do is head down the Meatpacking District, as that is where I hear the good nightclubs are. Dress Code? Well, dress to impress is NYC.

Although not really clubbed up many nightclubs have restraunts and lounges as part of the vibe i remember Budda Bar in or around the Meatpacking District that was a nightclub and diner (food not too bad either) Who would love studio 54 over again.

  • Help with a WOW night (or even day)!!

I'm off to New York in 4 weeks with my Mum for a week.

So excited to be going - we're going to do all the typical sight seeing, shopping and catching a show but I want to organise something special to do as a suprise so she really remembers our trip as I don't think she will ever go back.

Be really greatful for any suggestions.

    Thanks x x x

Someone mentioned a meal at the River Cafe but then someone else also said it's not worth it and there are better things to do (funnily enough they didn't tell me what!!)
  • I'm off to new york next saturday 19th, i had a plan last time to take things as they came. It worked well, this time i'd booked end of August and got cancelled by that blowy girl Irene! So now, i've decided even more so, what will be , will be. I will enjoy whatever happens when it happens because we are all only here for a good time not a long time. ;)

Thanks for this - I think we are going to book to Mamma Mia as a show as she likes ABBA and the film version. Can anyone suggest the best sites to buy show tickets from?

We're staying at Novotel in Times Square which looks to be ok as a base but I know everything's only a subway ride away.

    Thanks for your help.

Here's what i'm planning for my Xmas trip. I'll be on my own and I fully admit I'm trying to forget my troubles at home:sad:

    Thursday 22nd Dec
*Fly with BA from Manchester to Newark @ 7.10am, 2 hour stopover at Heathrow. Arrive Newark at 13.25.

*Airtrain, then train to Penn Station. Subway to Chambers for the Cosmo Hotel.

Looks a great trip - we go on 26 Nov for the sales, mainly!

Just a thought on your trip into Manhattan - you could just get the subway A train from the airtrain direct to Chambers St. I know it stops a lot of times, but more direct & saves changing at Penn St.

I didn't know that thanks:beer: I think it only goes to WTC but that's only a few blocks walk. Thank you

    Morning all

Check out lastminute.com for what looks like decent prices & flight times to NYC leaving New Years Eve morning! <£1000 I am sooooo tempted.. Just need to find someone to go with now!

They also have decent flights for before Christmas too.
