I see what you did there, but as this thread is full of people who have been and done most things asked, a wee personal approach of an answer like Marks is nicer :rotfl:0 -
My answer was far more personal, i had to find that doodah especially for you, and my answer was funnier too!!
One thing I have found is bowling is far from cheap over thereLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
£50 a night? In a word. No.
Hotels in NYC are upwards of $150 a night, for a room with a double bed in. If you're seriously looking at a hotel room for 3 people for £50 a night, you really should have looked for your hotel, before you booked flights. You might have to look at places like Long Island City, to get a room around the $100 mark, £50 = $80 inc tax, so that's $70 before tax.
The cheapest you can normally get is $99 for a single bed, in a hotel called The Jane. That is for 1 person.
If you've found cheaper hotels, I'd urge you to post them on here, or tripadvisor, so you'll get help and know if they actually exist, are convenient for travellers (don't stay near the airport, seriously!)

Yeah its 3 lads. Just mates. So 3 single beds or something. When i said £50 i was being ambitious. I've looked at the jane but thats booked up for when we are there. We've seen some 10 day hotels that would cost us about £500 each. So in theory that's £50 a night. I'll post them up when i check my emails again.
In all seriousness i don't want to spend an absolute fortune on hotels. But £500 sounds good.0 -

Look, It's easy when you're really specific, as you're fluffy and non descript, it is difficult to help.
Give me the following information, and I can point you in the right direction.
1 - Exact Dates
2 - Budget for the ROOM - (not per person)
3 - Bed Requirements - (Are you willing to share a bed?)
3 beds is difficult. 2 beds and a sofa bed will be easier. 2 rooms will be easier too, but then budget comes into it.
£500 each is £150 a night so that works out to be $208 per night before tax and is doable, but I don't want to spend time searching around until I'm 100% sure of what you want.

Weird huh? probably a year ago I was the evil one and phatbear was the nice one... muahahahaha...
I'm not used to all these compliments. I think I'm going to have to be more sarcastic in future.0 -
I did do a search, but couldn't find anything, apologies if I just missed it. Has anyone any suggestions for horse riding in NYC please (2 adults)? Central Park seems the obvious choice, but I know the Claremont has shut and been replaced by the Riverdale and it is fearfully expensive within CP, so if there's other places I should consider, then I'd be really grateful for any advice.
As regards the Groupon boat trip, anyone any idea if it can be used for the night tour? They are the same price, but it specifies the other tours by name
Thank you0 -
As regards the horseriding, if it helps anyone else, I've just been given this link on TA
www.nycgovparks.org/facilities/horseback
If anyone has any other options/suggestions though I'd be grateful
Many thanks0 -
3 - Bed Requirements - (Are you willing to share a bed?)
Our teenagers swore they wouldn't share a bed, but given a choice between that or one of them coming in with us, they shared a bed. Their father's snoring is notorious! :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
VT, before you and your mates go 'eugh!', bear in mind that all the beds we saw in NYC were Queen, ie bigger than a normal 'domestic' UK double. You could put a pillow in between you and not fall out.

And a King bed in USA is bigger than a King bed in the UK. Hell, a King bed in USA, is bigger than my Ikea King Bed I have at home.0
