Can anybody point me in the way of apartment style hotels.
I have stayed at the Affinia gardens and enjoyed it there but would like to look at other places. I am after something with a decent kitchen. I know of the flatotel but just wondering if their was anywhere else that was decent that was an apartment style hotel. Heard bad things about the radio city apartments so not interested in them.
Thanks:beer:0 -

I timed it just right going last weekend -between the two bouts of snow.
New York was warmer (slightly) than London.
We stayed out in East Rutherford at the Residence Inn. I'd had my doubts about staying out in Jersey but it worked out incredibly well. Our two bedroom suite was fabulous. Two bathrooms with four women was marvelous LOL and the real fire in the room was a treat. All for $179 a night including breakfast (and managers dinner Mon-Thurs which ranged from excellent to lame) we didn't use the kitchen but it was better equipped than mine at home -even had decent kitchen knives.
The bus really was right outside the hotel and ran to the (frequent) timetable -even when we were leaving the city at midnight -all for $8 return.
It was mainly shopping and wandering in the day -best meal was in ChinaTown and a very reasonable $79 for four before tip. It was delicious and we left stuffed.
Weirdest sight was encountering several hundred Santas on the Saturday -apparently there was a Santa Convention on . You never know WHAT you'll see around the next corner in New York
We saw The Donny and Marie Christmas show at the Marriott Marquis theatre on Broadway. If you're in NYC before 2nd January-Go see it !
I flew Continental -great service-so so food and economy was as comfortable as economy gets. I paid for most of the flight with Nectar points through Expedia so a real bargain .
I'd definitely do New York this way againI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

We are in New York. Had a great time but now stuck and don't know what to do. We've ran out of money and cant get through to our airline on the phone to find out what to do, our flight was cancelled 2 dys ago and we were rebooked to fly home today. But that has now been cancelled. Has anyone ever been in this position or know what to do? I wouldnt mind if we had any money left but we don't. Plus I wantyo be home for Xmas!0

Do you have anyone at home you know and know well to put some money into your accout to see you through, I beleive your safe for a hotel room and three meals a day and a few phone calls but you do need to pay for them and claim them back. I hope you return for xmas . Look at pressuring and be prepared to do whats best by your travel provider (whats your airline) and airport your flying into ? how many people any kids (with you at home) put yourself into a right position and remember their are alot more people in your position. Good luck and best wishes. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

People at home are trying to help, but the airline is awful, delta. Everytime we try to call u just get cut off. I asked I they would our us up in a hotel and the woman I finally got through said she could I've me a number for discount hotels. When I got through they were more expensive than expedia. So we've jut booked into the radisson Lexington now. My insurer says I'm only covered for £20 per 12 hours up to a maximum of 48 hours, then nothing. Very disappointed after such a lovely holiday I'd like to be at home, not hanging round worrying about money.0

Sounds awful.
I am hoping that I can get my flight from Manchester to JFK (via Paris) on Xmas Eve, they have been running (allbeit delayed) today and yesterday so fingers crossed. Thankfully I am out for 3 weeks so hoping the disruption is a thing of the past by the time I have to come back!!
