  • All booked up, and taking the Fiancee (my 2nd trip, her 1st) to New York in June for our anniversary. Managed to get a good deal through Expedia £940 for 7 nights from Newcastle to New York (British Airways) staying at The Carlton Hotel. Anyone been or heard anything about the hotel? Trip Advisor reviews seem good.

Also, anyone know of any good New York guide books for 2010 or preferably 2011?

£940 thats a great price works out about £50 per night after a flight of about 300 each .Dont know the calton but just had a look seems decent enough for the time you spend awake there just north from the Flatiron (one of my favorite buildings in the world)A little inbetween areas but close to most (walk to times square/macys MSG ect) Expedia do some great deals if your flexible with dates always worth a look

Happy New Year Everyone!! Heres to planning and visiting NYC in 2011!

Was watching the action in Times Sq last night on there website and seen the ball being lifted at 6pm didnt see the drop at midnight as was in bed been in work today. Never much footage of it on the news anymore either.

Judderman is that £940 all together not per person? I agree with greenface seems like a really great price for 7 nights I usually go for 5 nights and never payed less than £650pp for flights and hotel. Not stayed at hotel but looks nice and reviews look fine looks like you got a real bargin there.
New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥

Thanks for answering. Getting very excited planning this and still six months to go. All of 10 of us reasonably fit, we are going for a sex and the city theme. Trying to get a good over view of N.Y. and sort out a rough itinery to keep everyone happy. The day we arrive is my friends 60th so would like somewhere nice for a meal without going too expensive. Can't remember the name of the hotel but it is near Penn station. I've been have to N.Y. but it was in January ten years ago and due to the snow didn't walk around a lot. I think what to miss out is important so that we don't waste time. All normal working girls so think mid price suggestions, don't want to spoil things by going too cheap but not dating millionaires (yet).

Hiya. Just wanted to suggest a possible NY view bar for you ladies! 230 5th Ave is open from 4pm and has amazin views of the ESB with top cocktails or beer/wine if you prefer - no entrance fee and great heated tables with optional blankets and dressing gowns to keep cosy - totally sex and the city! me and my sis visited in Oct and it was a total highlight - only had one drink (about 10$ each) but totally got that NY vibe and a fantastic memory! enjoy, whatever you do.
  • There's a company called screentours who run a Sex & the City themed tour. We went on their tv & movie sites tour and loved it.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

Just booked to go to NYC for the third time in June of this year. Will be staying at Le Parker Meridien, anyone been here before?
