Re. Hop-on bus
I've used Grayline twice (once with Sis, once with BF). Agree with Tripadvisor review - there is nothing quite like going down Broadway on the top of the bus - it was something I will never forget. We've had variable Guides - some good, some excellent and some incomprehensible! The Down-town loop was the best for me. Also did the Night tour - that was good but mainly because the tour guide and his knowledge was amazing - he had a really great personality. Didn't enjoy the Uptown loop but maybe that's my personal preference.
Would use Grayline again if I was booking a tour - there seemed to be more Grayline buses about than the other company (can't remember name)
Enjoy your trip - I'm flying out on Sunday :T but can't quite believe it yet0 -

It was great as we could look for a way to get to places incospiculously without bringing out the huge map and looking like total tourists. Attached to it which you could just tap on the subway statioon and get was a neighbourhood maps for each subway station - brilliant!0 -
Very pleased with myself, just booked for next April, 6 months and counting. Staying at Affinia Shelburne, anyone stayed here?0

Just booked to go 14-18th December staying at Hotel Mela, very excited as never been out of europe before, can't wait!!! There's some great tips on here, just wondered if anyone knew of a good website with a map with all the good attractions like ESB, History Museum etc. I'm trying to plan our itinerary, but want to base it on what's near to what, rather than spend half the days travelling between places.
Thanks in advance0
