I printed top of the rock discount vouchers from a link here some time ago and have lost them.
My search on here can't find them again! Can anyone point me in the right direction please? We leave on Sat morning early!!0 -
Good website tip from my accomodation person...DIRECTIONS: www.hopstop.com is my favorite site for subway or walking directions-- they can give you exact directions all over the city, and take into account service changes (so be sure and enter the correct time you are travelling).0

There's a new one opening in Times Square in the "fall", try looking for info on that one. Just came back from NYC this morning here's what I did:
Tuesday 8am landing, at the hostel by 10, quick breakfast. Got on a train to Times square, realised we needed our NBC tickets, went back again. Stopped at TOTR to get tickets for that evening at sunset time (instead of buying two tickets). Popped over to TS for Toys r Us, M&M shop (AMAZING, definitly check it out!). Wandered over to Madison Square Garden to find it's being renovated which is why tours are cancelled. Shot back to the hostel for 3 to check in, then back for the NBC tour at 4.30pm. Lasted about an hour and unless you watch SNL or Dr. Oz was pretty much a waste of time.
Had dinner at Wendys then up to TOTR for sunset - totally worth it. Stayed up there for a few hours and headed back to the hostel.
Wednesday Coach trip to Washington DC! 4.5 hour trip each way and the coach was late, did the looooong walk around the White House/Lincoln Memorial/Capital Building etc. Was a nice day.
Thursday Started a greyline hop on/off tour at around 11 stopping at Empire State for NYC skyline ride (don't waste your money), then off at Macys for a walk around. Back on to Union Square to discover... nothing. Back on bus to Little Italy/Chinatown for lunch. Hop on to WTC site, went round the memorial ($5 charge!), was very depressing. On the bus again to Staten Island Ferry for a view of the Statue of Liberty, took about an hour. Jumped on the bus again back uptown for some quick cheesy shopping then did the night tour of NYC/Brooklyn at 8pm. Definitly worth checking out, had an awesome tour guide. Got off at ESB for a night view of NYC. Not quite sure which view I prefer, if you could see the Chrysler Building from TOTR it would win, but the damn Metlife building gets in the way. Headed back to the hostel for bed.
Friday Nice walk through central park for a few hours in the morning then off to the airport at 1pm.
Before this we did 3 days in LA - Disneyland, Universal, Warner Brothers tour - now need a holiday to recover from this one! Definitly need 4 days to check out NYC at a relaxed pace.0 -

thanks for the info on disney
looks like a busy few days,i thought the skyride was a waste of money aswell back in 2007 when i last went i dont remember having to pay to go to the WTC memorial area although it was just some railings with flowers on over looking the site back then,as they charge does that mean it is something bigger now?0 -

Definitely, definitely closed.
Disney are opening a new store in Times Square though - in the old Virgin Megastore. I'm not sure when it's due to open, but fingers crossed it will be.
Alternatives have to be - build a dino, Toys R Us, FAO Schwartz. Is she into Hello Kitty? Loads of HK merchandise.0 -
