Booked tickets for two shows ,going for a week in september.Booked through broadwaybox.com and Playbill,40%discount.Having been before, found that the prices are more or less the same as the cut price booths, except that you will pay a handlring charge, but you are guaranteed the seats you want and the show.Ifyou google tony awards there are clips of all the shows, hope this helps.

    Hi all,

I’m off to NYC on Thursday this week & I’ve been told that my mobile may not work to call home when in the US.

    I have a nokia 6301 & I’m a O2 pay-as-you- go customer.
(Obviously I intend to put a decent amount of credit on before we leave).

    Can anyone advise?

I'm on PAYG with O2 and found it worked fine with texting anyway, don't think it cost anymore either:)

Yes I think northwest1965 is right I thought it was about 40-50p per txt in USA.

Just booked my 4th trip to New York :j:j:j

  • We are off to New york in Oct, and was thinking of going to woodbury common. the thing is I want to go mainly for the yankee candle store, so was wondering what the prices are like. i also plan to but uggs, but have read that the ugg store there is rubbish?

central park is also a big must for me, but my OH is insisting we hire bikes, as it is so big. I really do not fancy the bike thing, is it possible to get around and see the main sights, bridges etc, without a bike or horse & cart LOL?

    Thanks in advance

I did read over on the TA site that if you hire a bike or horse/cart you miss a lot of Central Park as there are restricted areas.

    Hi All,

I'll be visiting NY next month as part of a little trip round the north east US. I'm planning to stay 2 days/2 nights. I'll have a car though so I'm looking to stay outside the city. Is there any particularly good areas nearby to stay and are there any 'park & ride' type places where I could ditch the car in the morning and pick up after a days sightseeing? I've been to NYC before but only ventured out of Manhattan to see a Giants game so not sure where to look for accomodation. Price isn't too much of an issue, just a nice safe area.
