You won't get an answer from LE, he's exceeded his posting limit and gone away to return later under a different name. That's if hi Mummy will let him use the computer.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Hi,
Fantastic thread !!!! My girlfriend recently got a PCN from G24 when parking at the local Homebase. The car park is shared by the local council swimming pool and she was taking her daughter swimming. Of course she went over the 90 minutes. The restrictions had only come in that week and she didn't notice them as she's been there hundreds of times before. Now got the first demand and of course will ignore this and any others ! I do find it hard to ignore them though as I'm a natural complainer
Instead of taking on G24 I've decided to give Homebase a bit of a kicking
I've been to the store and interrogated the manager who for some reason thought I was a reporter. I've written to the local papers newsdesk as young familys are getting these demands when they've been swimming. I've even written a long and very snotty email to the CEO of The Home Retail Group who own Homebase. For those of you that have also been caught out in Homebase car parks here's his email address :
terry.duddy@homeretailgroup.com
I was also intending of filling a trolley full of goods ( all small goods or plants ) and taking it to the manager and then walking out but it would have meant I'd have lost my pound !
Anyway, keep up the good work, boycott Homebase and I'll post updates when I get the letters from G24.
Apologies for not updating but hopefully what I'm about to say will help people see the process through.
In the end my girlfriend got two letters and I DID'T send the details to Homebase to cancel - I fancied seeing what would happen. And guess what ..... nowt, zlich, zero, a big fat nothing !!!!
I've personally now got a PCN from the same car park. I went swimming and gave my registration to reception as instructed but G24 are sooooooo stupid they have still sent me a PCN. I have had three letters so far - the original PCN, one saying I've missed the reduced payment period and now a final demand .... ohhhh how scary :rotfl:
Despite the fact I could end it all by writing to the swimming pool I'm going to prove a point - G24 are a bunch of scammers who won't dare take me to court .... come on .... I dare you, no I double dare youAll aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
I got a letter through the post in July saying I had outstayed my welcome at a car park by 11 mins. A photo of my car was on the letter which said I owed £90 and if I paid up in the next 14 days they would ONLY charge me £60! I was going to pay up til I spoke to a friend who told me to look on here. Having read some of the posts, I decided to ignore it. They didn't contact me again for a while. Then I got a second letter through, which was a final reminder, which I also ignored. Then I got a letter through on the 25th November saying I have to pay the full £90 by 10am on 25th November! I still haven't paid, but I am slightly concerned about the Notice of Intended Legal Action letter. I feel a bit better having been on here, but I don't want to go to court or have the TV or something taken away! I am considering paying up... Am I being stupid???

I bet it says on the letter MAY take legal action. It normally means they may not! Normally just another letter in the chain. Coming to take your TV just wont happen. Try and relax probably 1 in 10,000 may make it too court and they are normally people who have contacted them in the first instance.
And thats what happens when they do!0 -
Don't forget they only have a photo of the car and not of the driver. They have to go after the driver and not the registered keeper of the car. That RK is under no obligation to tell the parking company who the driver was.
This is all hypothetical anyway, because the majority of parking companies don't do court.
As for "taking your TV away". For that to happen, the case has to go to court (very unlikely) you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you refuse to pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days,What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Thank you so much everyone on this and other PPC threads.
I got a scary-looking parking letter from G24 asking for £95 when I got home from work on Wednesday and sat down and wept. After a sleepless night I'd decided to ring up and pay, but before doing so I went on to the 'puter for some recreational surfing.
Typed G24 in to Google and whoosh!...lots of stuff came up. Thinking 'this looks fishy', I rang round to find out if it was a scam: Trading Standards (recorded message), CAB (ditto) and ConsumerDirect (polite but no real info)...then I clicked on this site - what can I say? You have not only saved me money but immeasurable anxiety. The man on the Watchdog clip is wonderful, Martin Lewis is a god and you are all fab. G24 and their ilk are scum.
I have kept my (now un-scary) letter and look forward to receiving more joke mail. Thank you again.__________________________________

Glad you didn't fall for the trick. You may receive some further pleas from them but just carry on ignoring them.0

Glad to save you money the regulars on here are, but can you make sure you pass on the message to at least a few people, point them to this thread if you wish, and make sure they watch the video from watchdog, the more that know the better
Enjoy your christmas and new yearExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Thanks - yes, I'm telling everyone I know about what I've learned here, and am recommending the site. Best wishes to all over the holiday.__________________________________
