Quite right - I had forgotten the 5g cap (that's because I don't use the 5g, so don't expect to pay more, and haven't had it on my mind when posting so glowingly about madasafish - I think their refreshing approach to service has softened me up!).

If you're a big downloader the unlimited downloads from aol are definitely something to bear in mind.

Well I'm made up for you getting the deal, but its not relevant now.

2 months ago they were building their customer base to sell it.

The question is can you get that deal now.

After being advised on this forum about 15th August that the best way to get the £9.99 deal was to use Live Help and speak to someone in India I did just that and expected my September account to be at the lower price. No such luck. I was so disappointed to see £17.99 on my credit card statement last week. I have taken it up with them and they have just come back saying
"if you want to download to AOL Silver go to live help". Couldn't believe it and am hoping they will keep to their August offer. I have been paying £17.99 for well over a year - maybe two - and believe the speed is only half a Gbyte.
Have complained bitterly to them again. Maybe it's time to move.

  • We are currently on gold at £24.99 and our year is up next month, we went on this package as last year my daughter got a laptop and we wanted wireless so had to upgrade from silver and bought our own router, can I just confirm that silver works with wireless and to be perfectly honest I never noticed a change in speed when we upgraded so wont notice much of a difference downgrading, and if this is correct I will be getting it at 9.99 come hell or high water!!!.

Yes wireless will work with Silver. They supply a free wireless router with Silver now. As you bought your own router, you didn't need to go on to the Gold package last year. They may have said that they didn't support wireless on the Silver package but what happens after the modem i.e. your home network is up to you.
