    Morning all

Pooky that is so sweet of your girls, shows how much they appreciate your OH :)

Queenie - can you come and whisper sweet nothing in my ear instead, I won't understand a word but it will sound great :D

Churchmouse in answer to your reply last night the pool was even more of a bargain than the tent. It was only £18 which is apparently a huge difference to the £60 odd pound they normally cost for an easy up pool. We had a bit of a funny episode this morning when I went out and found the pool half empty. I thought it had sprung a leak but couldn't see the evidence of such a huge amount of water. Then DS came out and told me that the water had been coming out the end of the hosepipe, DH had left the hosepipe in the pool and just disconnected it from the tap, because the hose was going downhill all the water had gone back through the hose and down towards the drain by the house :D It's filling back up again now and hopefully the sun will warm it up by this afternoon.

I've tidied the house and am just about to stick the hoover round, put some washing on and then clean the kitchen floor, after having DS's friends around yesterday it needs doing badly :(

Mum gave me the money for an electric food slicer yesterday (one that cuts meat and bread) as I missed the one in Lidl and I've just ordered one from Amazon even cheaper! It's a Kenwood for £27.90 with free delivery, I've got so tired of paying out a fortune for cold meats for sandwiches and I can get three joints of meat for £10 so hopefully this will save me even more money now I can get nice thin slices.

troo - the YM looks good, and the description definately says you can use skimmed milk :D so semi will be good too :D

moggins - :rotfl: Hmm, maybe .. if I get clever enough ... I can whisper Spanish instructions on cross stitching ;):D
The electric food slicer will definately stretch your meats/breads, great toy!!! :T

Pooky - :j :j That sounds like an ideal situation! I'm sure you've thought it all through - wishing you and your family, wholeness and contentment ((hugs)) Oh, I've posted an original list of 200+ activities which I've had on file for a few years, for the Boredom Buster Jar in Martin's thread: Great Free Things To Do With Kids Hunt - which can be adapted to suit individual tastes/styles/budgets/families which might give you some extra ideas.
Must admit, the pool sounds fun!

brokenwings ... :rotfl: I know what you mean about 'nads' ... it's only if you add the 'go' as a prefix that it takes on a testicular meaning ... so, no chanting, ":j Go nads! :j Go nads :j " in celebration of the defuzzing successes  :shhh:

    Morning everyone.

I managed a small lie in this morning. DH woke me up to leave for work at 6:00am. He's in Sunderland today. Then i got woken properly by a DHL courier delivering a parcel for DH at 7:45. I bet i looked a proper fright answering the door in my PJs, but never mind. They shouldn't come so early. :p

I've spent the morning so far having a perusal of the threads that i haven't managed all week, and i'm about to have my 2nd cuppa.

    Plan for the day
    • tidy up the living room/dining room so DH can strip wallpaper from the ceiling tomorrow.
    • wash my hair
    • hoover kitchen
    • meet an old friend who is about to move away from the area for an afternoon cuppa
    • write a list of jobs i want to do FLC style over the next couple of weeks before my hols
    • have a think about what colour to do the living/dining room so DH can crack on.

Anyone any suggestions on colours for me as i hate picking? I have just ordered oak furniture, and need to pick a colour for the laminate flooring, and then the paint. My sofa is a beige colour, and i won't be replacing that at the moment. I am basically a bit clueless. Was thinking something like coffee and cream colours, so will have to put me thinking cap on.

Anyway, I am going to start to try and be a bit more constructive with the day. I will no doubt be around a lot more now i've escaped the dreaded w***.

I have to say, i fully agree from the thread yesterday that the word thanks appears to be disappearing, along with please. I notice it a lot at school. Yet if you remind the kid, they will use it. I make sure when i give out end of term treats now that i go round each kid and say, here's an end of term gift from me. I think when it is plonked in the middle of the table and a free for all, it is totally forgotten about.

I was also shocked how some kids are really greedy for chocolate. Snatching big handfuls of mini choc bars and stuffing their pockets with them.

Oh well, won't be doing that again for a bit.

    see you all later,
    Michelle. xx

OOOH - also BRZL - absolutely loved that flat. It had a very nice colour scheme, and was very clean looking and spacious. My fingers are still crossed for you though i can't do legs without needing the loo.:o

Morning all.....(((((HUGS))))))) to those who need them........

TROO - thats the yogurt mmaker I have, I bought an extra pot, I use 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt (once you have your own you can use that) as a starter and 2 ozs of dried milk 1-1/2 pimts of tesco value skimmed milk, put the yogurt and dried milk in the container and GENTLY stir in the milk, switch it on and leave it for 8 hours, I do mine on a time switch overnight, by morning you will have a pot of yoggi, which you can flavour as you want. To make greek yogurt you can put some muslin in a PLASTIC strainer and pour in the yougrt, leave to drain for a few hours and you will have lovely thick greek style yoggi, the stuff you are left with you can drink, its like the stuff you buy in pots at ginormous prcies......... or make scones with it, or both.....

Going to set up my friends broadband connection this afternoon whilst OH plays bowls, thats if it isn't rained off, we have a forecast for torrential rain by lunch time. I must admit I wish we could have a good storm and clear the air, its very muggy this morning.

I got a food slicer from freecycle and its brilliant, use it for bread and meat, do be careful when you are cleaning it, the blade is razor sharp, do not try doing it with the plug in or you may find yourself minnus a finger!!!!!! I would not be without mine. When I bake bread I leave the loaf to go cold, then slice it and pile it up, put it in a poly bag to keep.......

Right I am off for my daily dose of caffine.

Nice to see a post from Queenie..........

    Have a good day...................

    Good morning everyone,

I feel lazy, you guys got up so much earlier than me... I'm trying to get the OH to do breakfast... Boiled egg on wholemeal toast and jam...

He is going on his stag do tonight. I'm terrified! I hope he manages to stay halfway sane. I have the feeling that his mates are gonna try and make him drink lots, and he never drinks much, so I am sure he can't handle it that well

Well, I will have to start writing my music revies, I have four today and tonight I am playing a gig! Hopefully we will get paid...

Hope you all have a fantastic day. It's still hot here but I am hoping to get used to it...

    Good morning everyone!:hello:

Well after that mother and father of a storm last night I was hoping for cool clear weather today!!! Yeah right! It's hot humid and oppressive again already, and I've got a ton of ironing to doicon9.gif

Thanks PenPen I do feel a bit better today, don't know what's wrong me, just need a good shake I expect!:rotfl:

That was some bargain moggins! May have to check prices with you before I buy anything in future!!:D

Can't believe you enthusiastic souls getting up that early for Next sales! Well done, you deserve your bargains!:T My local Next is tiny, really wouldn't be worth the effort I don't think.

Penny-Pincher! Glad you had a better night, it did cool a little while the storm was on didn't it? I finally fell into a reasonable sleep just as it was approaching get-up time wouldn't you know it? So I was late up and now I'm all behind! (and no I don't mean my fat bum, although I have got one of those too!:rotfl: )

So must get off, hope to be back later! Enjoy your days.

P.s Pooky It brought a lump to my throat reading your post.OH must be a lovely man for your DDs to be so pleased about it. What a lovely family you make!!

Catowen - it's a funny feeling when they're not around isn't it? I know I used to spend my days in total limbo when mine went off with their dad. Eventually I found that the best way for me to spend the day was visiting people if I could. As much as there were lots of things I needed or would like to do without my darlings, once they weren't around I seemed to go into slow motion - or even grind to a stop! I'm sending a great big hug your way hun - and hopefully a bit of 'clarity' to help you choose something to make the most of having a day to yourself.
    January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.
