Just a thought, if Santander cant find/process an online application, can I ring and cancel it then apply over the phone without it leaving 2 footprints on my credit rating ?0

Once the search is recorded, it's recorded. Santander struggle to process simple and straight forward queries at the best of time, good luck trying to get them to do what you're hoping for - a phone application will be treated as a totally separate application (the phone application people may not even be able to see the online application)."A child of five could understand this. Just checked my search history and theyve not even got that far yet.... oh joy.0

I agree business banking is great when all works but shocking customer support when it doesn't.
Applied for c-card also, no point phoning to chase the application, it will only frustrate and annoy me talking to them and get nowhere going in circles. It took two months and 15calls totalling 3.75hrs, 13 assistants, 4 managers simply to get some paying in envelopes!
Not sure if it's a disincentive to drive one away from free banking but it is the sole reason I put up with it. I have it figured out as this; as long I don't want anything from them I'm fine as soon as I do then I first go to the doctor for some Valiumdamn I need some more envelopes....
As for the cc I'll expect when I see it!0 -
It is now 2 weeks since I applied: the credit check was recorded on my file the day after I made the online application but I have heard absolutely nothing from Santander (but was told I was accepted when I called over a week ago).
This is getting frustrating as I've a balance to transfer....0 -

Should have guessed that anything touched by Abbey/Santander will have a big chance of a screw up. Applied as existing A&L a/c holder on the 14th and called up twice each time to be told the app is under process. Today I am told the app should have been processed but because it has not, a back-office ticket has been raised. Well the saga continues.....0

further to my previous post, I phoned santander and they told me the 0% interest overdraft for 12 months didn't exist. I referred her to the internet page and waited whilst she read it. I then rang the branch who went away to check it out (must have logged onto the net for training purposes as they were away for ages) and then came back and apologised saying the advisor must have got confused. Do you think they will give me a credit card for training their staff? I am now thinking I should stay with the bank that gives the better service and actually know their products.
Do you think any other banks will follow suit by rewarding their customers for their loyalty?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0
