I have received my voucher today. I to was told they would confirm by email on 18th - no reply so I emailed them and they replied same day with a further list of questions - from the energy saving trusts website, you need to click on the Boiler Scrappage Scheme, scroll down page and click on 'completing the online web form' and complete the Application Form, (I am not allowed to put the link as my first post) Once the boiler is installed you complete the form supplied, enclose a copy of the invoice. The installer has to sign and confirm a replacement 'A' Grade Boiler for 'G' Grade Boiler, then you complete Bank details and the £400 is paid by bank transfer. I have until 16th April to return form. Hope this helps.

We've just had a plumber round to give a quotation. He says they only give vouchers if the work is going to cost more than £2,400. Is this true? I haven't seen it anywhere.

Thanks. I was getting a litte worried about cost. We thought if we just had the boiler changed it might not cost too much but he seems to think we have to put in a condensing boiler, with a new pump, new electrics etc and take out the hot water tank, which means changing all the piping... yikes!

  • Hi,

I’m about to apply for my voucher as I think I have all the necessary info. The new boiler is for a property we are letting out and the new tenants move in 2 weeks tomorrow. Obviously I’m wanting the work done before they come. Do you know why we are told to wait until we receive the voucher before going ahead with the work? I’m not very patient and want it done now! Will this really invalidate my claim? Who is to know?

    Thankyou,
    Hannah.

From memory I thought (but could be wrong) that you had to be living in the house. Presumably the invoice will have a date and if the installer lies he or she will be involved in fraud.

Sorry checked you do have the right to claim as a private landlord but not if the work is done beore the voucher is recieved.
