not sure why you would say that ..just trying to help people where possible ..i have been an gas engineer for more than 20 years so i am sure i must know a little about it ..
I think you'll prolly find that poster is concerned that you are are giving the impression that the scrappage scheme can be circumvented with retrospective paperwork being submitted for work already completed. With your experience people might take this as gospel and try it themselves only to be disappointed which would be a shame.

Equally with the scrappage scheme providing a voucher to be used against labour costs how would you use it when the person concerned has only been charged for materials as per the other thread. BTW perhaps you'd be kind enough to answer my questions in post 8 of that thread when you have a minute. Ta.

So the your posts seem a tad confused although I'm quite sure its just a misunderstanding which, I guess, you'll be quite happy to clear up.

    Cheers

VOUCHER LANDED THIS MORNING :j:j:j:jat my customers house .

I think they are selecting voucher recipients at random. I cannot believe they told me 20 working days when others have been told 10. Also my plumber has told me of people who got vouchers who applied after me.

I will do it if I get the voucher but if not then will just wait. I can't find a nice fire to put in place of the back boiler anyway.

  • I got my voucher this morning! Thanks for this post, this is perfect timing as we are having to replace our bolier anyway. We want to put in a combi and get rid of the tank to free up some space in our bathroom :)

Does anyone happen to know, if in my parents case, if it is possible to claim the money for the scrappage scheme and £300 rebate from warmfront for being over 60? Or is it an either or?

    Thank in advance

Any news shirlgirl? I haven't got mine either.... seems its first come, last served.
  • No news here. My boiler is being fitted next week regardless so it looks like I'll miss out. They haven't contacted my pluimber yet. Another thing the Government can't get right!
  • Today (13 working days ater applying) I got the following email

"Thank you for applying to the Boiler Scrappage Scheme.

Your application is now being processed and once verified you should receive your voucher within the next 10 working days.

On receipt of your voucher you may then instruct your chosen installer to start your installation.

Once again thanks for applying to the scheme. By upgrading your current G-rated boiler to an A-rated one will result in lower CO2 emissions and running costs to your household.

    Regards

    Energy Saving Trust"

The boiler goes in Tuesday next week so we'll see if I get it in time.
  • we applied via email when the offer first came out and got a reply saying we'd hear something on the 18th but have heard nothing since.
  • I have received my voucher today. I to was told they would confirm by email on 18th - no reply so I emailed them and they replied same day with a further list of questions - from the energy saving trusts website, you need to click on the Boiler Scrappage Scheme, scroll down page and click on 'completing the online web form' and complete the Application Form, (I am not allowed to put the link as my first post) Once the boiler is installed you complete the form supplied, enclose a copy of the invoice. The installer has to sign and confirm a replacement 'A' Grade Boiler for 'G' Grade Boiler, then you complete Bank details and the £400 is paid by bank transfer. I have until 16th April to return form. Hope this helps.
