I got a quote last year for my 2 story terrace house, 6 rads to replace and the 15yr old boiler, remove hot water tank and the cold water tank in the loft. About 1-2 days worth of labour:-
Britsh Gas = £5000 including discounts
Local plumber/gas fitter = £3000
As someone else on the forum said I expect the 'quotes' to rise about £300-£400 to take advantage of the scrappage scheme (ie you don't save much money).
I never replaced it in the end, manily because my old boiler still works and my gas bill is only £28/month (Ebico). Didn't think it was worth it.0 -

I don't know whether to chase them or not. I'd like the voucher asap. Although I realise they aren't sending vouchers out until the 18th I don't want to wait until then to find they didn't get my email for some reason.X British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.

You said in another post you had replaced your mum's boiler for £450. So please explain how you are now applying for the scrappage scheme?
I had an inkling you were not to be believed and now you are confirming my suspicions.
I advise anyone on here to take the information given by this poster to be treated with suspicion.0 -

So 10 days has become 10 working days. I thought I had registered online but now they're telling me to fill in the new form and wait another 10 working days which will be too late. It will be 10 working days tomorrow but my plumber hadn't heard from them when I spoke to him yesterday and he's probably sick of me asking.0
