Sounds healthy enough to me :)

Felt a bit guilty lobbing in so much soy sauce, ketchup and honey but turned out it stretched a loooong way - it was so flavourful. I served it with basmati rice to soak up some juices. We are having it for lunch today and will have the leftover chicken in rolls on saturday - it's lovely...I'd really recommend!

Beef stew which I'm pleased to say was totally delicious, the meat just melted in my mouth and there was no hint of a funny taste/smell which I had with my last slow cooker, can't wait to use it more :j

I'm putting some braising steak, onions & carrots in mine today.

Will serve with mashed potato and some cabbage & cauliflower that was left over from a roast dinner earlier in the week.

Actually, the braising steak was from 2 x 2kg top rump that I bought from the Co-op.
It was half price (£6 per kg instead of £12) and then was reduced by a further third.
I cut it up into slices and diced some and whacked the whole lot in the freezer.

I'm just about to put 2 chicken carcasses in mine with HM chicken stock and some onion, leeks, cabbage.

I'll add noodles after I blend it to make chicken noodle soup for lunches the next 2 days.

I cooked a gammon joint overnight. Looking forward to getting tucked in later
  • We've been given a large brisket of beef from out local butcher, so as there is only two of us, I've halved it & put one section in the freezer & I'm experimenting with the other half for tea tonight...

Soo into the slow cooker is half the beef, red wine, red onions & a clove of garlic... no idea what it will taste like, but hey ho!!

  • Report on the beef - very tasty! I tipped out the juices while the meat was resting & made a lovely gravy by adding some plain flour

    DH is thrilled!
