I don't post much, but I want to say a big thank you to 'Pastures New' for the link to the humble tart site. I made a really lovely lamb curry for today's dinner using this recipe http://humbletartkitchen.com/do-something-different-with-lamb-slow-cooked-fragrant-lamb-curry/
It was delicious, just the thing to come home to after a busy day at work!

I bought a tesco slow cooker for my son,2years ago,and it is very good.Much lighter than my ceramic crock pot so easier to lift up.If I needed another would buy this as very reasonable price so well worth it(tesco points too!).

I've just had delivered my new Slow Cooker today, it's bigger than my old one and can be used on the stove too so finally I will have one big enough to cook larger meals so I can make extra portions for the freezer.. think I'll make a large chicken chasseur for this evening! :)
  • We have ox cheek casserole, I had a sad looking celery in the fridge so that has been thrown in along with leeks, carrots and sweet potato.

Today I cooked a batch of braised steak and chopped root veg.The steak was reduced in price from £3.08 to 99p,so I bought 4 packs. The veg was a reduced stew pack and 4reduced onions plus celery, stock and reggae reggae sauce.
Was yummy.Extra stored in freezer for future meals.

Vege soup was done overnight last night and that has been portioned up for the freezer and a sausage casserole is in now to leave overnight. Then fill it up again with curry. So that's the freezer well stocked.

I've ordered the Morphy Richards Sear & Stew slow cooker and I can't wait to try out some of the recipes here. This will be my second venture into the world of slow cooking, I hope it's more successful than last time, I ended up getting rid of my old slow cooker, no matter how hard I scrubbed when cleaning it or what I tried cooking in it almost everything I made seemed to have a funny smell/taste to it, the final straw was when I had to throw away a whole batch of soup that was completely inedible .

Really hoping for better results this time :)

    Bet.
Worrying won't stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.

Chicken in a honey and garlic sauce

I put in 1.5 packs (about 1kg total) of thighs and drumsticks - packs are £1.50 at Sainsbobs right now - then shredded meat off bones after 2 hours on high.

Have now added 1 cup soy sauce, 1 cup tomato ketchup, 1/2 cup honey, 4 cloves garlic and fresh basil and that'll be in until dinner on low.

Will serve with steamed broccoli and sweet pot wedges. Not the healthiest of meals but it smells amazing!
