    SC masters - help!

I half half a shoulder of lamb, an onion, parsnips, port, rosemary and thyme.

I was thinking to bung in:

sliced onions, a few whole bashed cloves of garlic, then the lamb, then some sticks of parsnip (should I add these later?), a veg stockpot, a glass of port, some water, a tsp each of dried thyme and rosemary.

Does this sound feasible? How long would you put it on for?

I did a mushroom and spinach risotto in the slow cooker tonight and it worked! Not quite so much bite in the rice itself, but the mushrooms were perfect and the flavour was fantastic :)

I've put in two onions (halved), 3 cloves of garlic, a cup of fiery ginger beer, a gammon joint (no bone). On the gammon itself, I've sprinkled chilli flakes and drizzled two teaspoons of honey on it. Fancied doing something different, we'll see how it goes :)

Update: it was yummy! I'll be doing gammon again this way. A friend tried it as well and said it was my best one yet :)

I've read that porridge in the slow cooker should be done with water not milk. So I just stick to the stove top for porridge :)

I've been using my SC a lot this weekend...

Friday night I put on a low GI pea and ham soup, it takes 12-14 hours so it was for lunch Saturday. Only due to a substitute I used yellow split peas, and in the morning all the water was gone, and the peas were cooked! This is great because it took less then 9 hours so I can cook that during the day for dinner.

Yellow split peas, onions, carrots, frozen peas, red lentils, stock and cooking bacon.

Yesterday I did a whole chicken, that was seperated for 3 jambalayas and 3 BBQ chicken pizza. We had pizza for dinner. Overnight I made stock.

2kg chicken, 3 onions (skin on quartered) garlic, 3 carrots, leeks.

Today I'm making cottage pie. I find adding the veg. And lentils first thing makes them soft by dinner, but I'll add the mince around 4 hours before dinner.

Onions, garlic, Sweetcorn, garden peas, sliced carrots, stock, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, red lentils and minced beef.

    Tomorrow is chicken Korma.

Onions, mixed peppers, mushrooms, red lentils and whole chicken theighs.

Then the SC gets a well earned holiday :)
