A small beef joint is going in ours this morning covered in mustard with a splash of soy sauce and a cup of beef stock and a pinch of herbs,

I'll roast it in the oven for 30 minutes once it is cooked.

I have put a joint of beef in our slow cooker this morning. I have added stock of an oxo cube, Hungarian mix and a tin of toms. Will have it later with new pots, roast pots, carrots, peas and broccoli - will eat about 7ish tonight x

There's a Ham Shank in mine - most of the meat will be turned into 'Shank Stew (bit like Scouse) with Dumplings' tomorrow and the remainder will go into 'Yellow Split Pea Soup'.

In my slow cooker today I tried to fit a leg of lamb, as it will not go in and I could not cut the bone, its all now in the oven.

Next time I get a large leg of any animal I shall ask the butcher to cut it to fit into my obviously too small slow cooker.:D

Oh and its in with loads if garlic and some onion.
    63 mortgage payments to go.

I've been reading through some of the posts on here and they all look yummy! I was wondering if it is possible to do a full sunday roast in a slow cooker, e.g. chicken thighs (only 2 of us so a full chicken would be too big), potatoes, veg etc (yorkshires/stuffing would be done in oven)... has anyone tried this?

My other half doesn't like gravy too much, so I wouldn't want to make it as a stew type meal.

Not tried a full Sunday roast dinner, but chicken thighs cook well and you can cook jacket potatoes if you wrap them in tin foil and put in base of slow cooker.Stuffed vegetables keep their shape very well, whereas they can collapse if cooked slightly too long in the oven.Chicken risotto works, and is yummy, but is best to use easy cook rice as risotto rice ends up as a sticky mess!Root veg.cooks well if cut into even sized pieces and cooked in oil or butter before being put in the slow cooker.
I've tried these separately but not as a full all in one meal,so unsure of timings etc.I'll ask around and see if I can find out from my friends.
