and what would that do, maybe they would be laughing at it once they read it,
I do see the point your trying to get across but i wouldnt have bothered with it really0 -
Good luck to them, their most probably on minimum wage, I would just call it a perk of the job.
I'm afraid I don't agree - I fully understand why the OP was miffed! Its not a perk of the job at all - the staff should not be buying stuff/reserving items when they are working. They should wait until they finish their shift, clock off and then take their chances like everyone else. The perk they are entitled to is their staff discount.
I very much doubt if the management staff would be very pleased to know this was going on. Also, there is the possibility of fiddling the prices - I'm not saying this happened, just that it could happen - another reason for management to frown on the practice.ELITE 5:2

Isn't the employee also a customer if they wish to buy something?
Agreed - but not until they finish their shift! Up till then, they are employees and can't be customers at the same time.ELITE 5:2

Yet again when people said
I said that if a member of staff acted like that, then in my opinion they should be sacked and I stand by this.
Technically what they did was wrong AND it's a perk of the job?????
What you are really saying is they aren't supposed to do it but everyone does anyway. That being the case, maybe a few more people need to complain?
The cakes weren't important to me, I made the complaint over the rudeness.
1. Like you keep politely putting in your posts......... please read what I said! I never stated you hoped they were sacked, I said you were not opposed to them being sacked........ which if I were you, over a 70p box of cakes and/or a rude attitude, I would feel slightly guilty knowing someone had lost their job over it?!
2. Basically, yes, that is exactly what i'm saying. It happens everywhere and everybody knows it! It's just that most people don't feel the need, and have better things to do/more important things to do than tap out a letter of complaint knowing full well that it was going to drop someone in the ****!!!0
