In what way is this pic relevant to the OP's post?

Which explains why customer service in general is going to pot and is non existent in most cases. Because members of staff are more interested in gaining for themselves, rather than offering a service and doing their job. Of course, there are the exceptions which I have experienced.

the lady was only doing her job, if caught talking or standing around, would have been told off, supermarkets run on very little staff due to the credit crunch to preserve profits, everything is time limited, you are given, loads of jobs are are expected to complete all the tasks,as well as responding to checkout calls, which you could be stuck there for hours, and no one does your job while you are away, you don't have the time to stand there and ask every customer would you like this cream cake i am about to reduce? staff have nowhere to leave reduced items, not allowed to use fridges/freezers or warehouses for own purpose, all members of staff have to sign training record cards for this, if caught can start disciplinary action, all for a 75p box of cakes i dont think so.

maybe these people wanting to complain should try and work in a supermarket for a day on a 9 hour shift and see how easy it is.
  • God I thought this thread was dying down when I last looked at it two days ago! Just been wading through it and I can see how wrong I actually was - if anything it's got even crazier! :D

I think I used to go out with her.

If you know where she is, can you tell her she still owes me twenty quid and if she can give back that Coldplay CD I'd be well grateful.

    Ta.

Maybe supermarket staff complaining about having to do the job they're actually paid to do should try and look for something else or stop moaning?

Is this the member of staff who took the cakes off display?
  • There was a post on here a while ago, blaming all the Asians/Blacks/Polish for "taking all the whoopsies'. Clearly the staff member was actually a Polish muslim with black grandparents ;)
    From Poland...with love.

    Their

The books are sitting just there on the floor.
