Damn, I've just scrolled through all 18 pages, thinking he'd come back and state the outcome! Thats 15 minutes of my life I'll never get back...0

Whilst I seem to be in the minority of people who can see that the issue in this thread is not merely about a box of cakes but a matter of (apparently) particularly poor treatment of a customer...I congratulate you on a fine poem. Well done!0 -

No, 1 or 2 pages about the cakes, a further couple or four about the rights/wrongs of staff having first dibs on reduced stock, the remainder by and large irrelevant drivel with the usual dollop of ignorant insults.0 -
Sagalout.
That was very well summed up.
But i have had some fun and laughs on this particular thread.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -
this isnt about denying staff a perk of their job, it is about a customer being treated in such a way as to make their shopping experience unhappy. The bad PR on here is far more damaging than that box of cakes was worth. The staff member doesnt care about that, as long as they get their 75p cake and minimum wage packet - I think the customer was right to complain - I have worked in retail and it is not a difficult job if you have a pleasing personality, which is what customer service is all about.0

Yipeee!!! Someone with a brain!!!! :T:T You are probably one of the few members of staff from who I have received excellent customer experience! Thank you!0 -
And who said the British don't complain enough............
Get a life if this is all you have to complain about. My god the mind really does boggle with some people on here.
Btw my partner works in a shop and Im well chuffed she gets dibs on things that have been reduced.
Got a bottle of aftershave that was selling for £25 at Xmas, but reduced to £7 a couple of days back. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it:rotfl:0 -

But has there been any proof the shop assistant took the cakes to BUY them or that he/she was actually rude to OP?0
