All I can say about this post is Watch the tv. Kids in Haiti eat Mud Cakes daily to fill there starving bodies. Yes good old Mud from the Earth. God compaining because someone pinched your reduced cream cakes. Some people here and abroad dont have the luxury of a decent meal never mind a cream cake reduced or not.0

I cant believe that no-one has thought that she may not have taken the cakes for herself at all.... she could have noticed they were actually out of date, and as such would not have been allowed to reduce them ...just a thought!
I think it was petty and bitter to complain about it !I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -

You? Certainly your English comprehension appears to be somewhat lacking, though perhaps that's down to an issue like dyslexia so hard to tell about your intelligence. Here is what I said:
"well here's a cluebie, if you don't want to work minimum wage jobs, apply yourselves, get better skills and get better jobs!"
Please point out anywhere where I have stated (or even implied) that minimum wage earners either a) don't work hard, or b) are thick. I didn't. In fact what you've done is simply read into my posting something that wasn't there - presumably because you have a bias on the matter in question. What I said was "get better skills". That is how career progression works, it's about acquiring more skills to demonstrate that you are ready for a more responsible position.
Maybe they were reading into your post a bit too much, because you were a bit harsh. I'm on minimum wage due to the fact there are very few jobs in my preferred line of work, which makes it difficult for me to get a well paid, more fulfilling role. Maybe other minimum wage earner have excellent skills and maybe they apply themselves, maybe they have spent 3 years at uni and working part time, like myself, but have not been able to find a career related job yet.
Anyway...
When I worked in Home Bargains and we got some products in (like Easter Eggs) for example we were allowed to keep some aside, as we worked from opening to close, and by the time closing time most of the eggs would have been gone. I remember that being a good perk of the job. Maybe putting something that has been reduced aside for yourself is also a good perk.0 -

A few of us actually stated that could well be the case, along with the suggestion that she isn't psychic and isn't paid to listen to the OP talking to his wifeUnfortunately, others seem to think that she must posses the above qualities and must also have bought them for herself. The latter probably being because they can't see past their own way of needing everything and every bargain.

I couldn't agree more with this post. Sometimes things need to be put in perspective.0 -

Was in the gaming isle when I overheard one member of staff asking another member that if he gets any of the discounted xyz games in, would he put them aside for him, he agreed.
Was in Morrisons yesterday, was about to buy a box of 4 fresh cream cakes when one of the bakers staff came up and started reducing the items. She reduced the scones, then reduced the box of cakes I wanted to 75p, looked at me, then didn't even put the box back on the shelf, took it out the back with her.
I always thought the customer came first.
Next time I would take the names of them all from their name badges and send a complaint, in writing, to head office and point out that they deprived you, a loyal customer, of discounted product.
Also point out they get employee discounts as well so they would pay even less. The problem is if employees discount food then trouser it themselves how does the store know they are not just discounting stuff to get it even cheaper. It might be worth pointing that out too."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -

Spartacus.
Would you really do that over a packet of cakes,i know where you are coming from about it not being the point its all about customer service, but would you really want to see someone racked over the coals for this.
I would not be able to sleep at night if i thought someone was sacked over something as trivial as a box of cakes, and does anyone actually know what the cakes were?
Battenburg.
apple pies
french fancies
apple and blueberry pies
would anybody like to have a wager on what the cakes were,i will go for apple pies.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -

OP claimed they were fresh cream cakes. I bet the caring conscientous Morrisons worker thought "fresh cream, could be a bit whiffey after being out of the chiller and on the reduced shelves this long better bin them before some daft couple eat them and get the squits".The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head.
