Is this not differenent oldone.
This fella could not provide proof of purchase and was eating what he had not paid for, employee or not that is theft?Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -
OP Thank-you for your detailed response. It's clear that you didn't challenge the assistant concerned and ask why she'd taken the cakes away. Why? You say you suspected this and you suspected that but you didn't actually do anything about it at the time except for make loud irritating comments. Now you intend to try and drop someone in it. I personally don't care whether this was cakes or how much they were reduced by, I just don't understand why you didn't sort the matter out at the time instead of causing yourself so much stress and possibly the reprimanding of an employee. Next time this happens, maybe it would be better to address the problem at the time, it saves so much bother!0

I'm 100% with you Tribulation. Those who seem to be stuck on the "cheap cakes" trip have obviously missed the point.
Shop staff are there to serve the customer, end of. If they don't like the customers then get the heck out of the job. It wasn't about the cakes, it was about being treated like a piece of **** by a miserable member of staff. If Morrisons want people like that representing them as first point of contact for shoppers then more fool them.Pants0 -

I'm not vindictive
Due to the vast number of people who think this practise is perfectly acceptable including a member of Morrisons own staff, rather than the very vague 500 letter max response form I filled in on Morrisons contact page, I have now decided to write to head office detailing exactly what went on, I have copied parts of this thread into it to show them what people who work in supermarkets think is acceptable behaviour, and ask them to address the problem urgently.
good bye
That is very very vindictive actually.
You know, it's an internet fourm, there's no need to announce you're 'leaving' all you have to do is stop logging on to post/read.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I know exactly where you are coming from. I made the same decision myself about six months ago concerning this site. I use it now only as intended ie moneysaving, look at the grabbits, an odd ebay problem, banking offers, teckie board if I have a problem. This place can be a mine of information. But I stick to factual subjects/matters only now, not debate which often turns into abuse. Best of Luck.0 -

That's the internet folks!Full of carp-get used to it.:rolleyes:Wait to be flamed...0 -
I was in my local sainsburys on sunday afternoon...right time right place...the guy was just about to reduce a large selection of things further and asked what I wanted from the selection out...I chose a few things and he reduced them all down to no more than 49p an item. I got some pizzas chicken bits and a few things that could freeze.
I suppose the way to look at supermarket reductions is ..great if you can get them...no great shakes if you dont.... would you write to customer services if another customer had beaten you to a reduction...if thats the case customer services would become bombarded with complaints.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Im not thick and completely saw the point of your post but when all is said and done it was a poxy box of cakes, get over it.
Maybe the shop assistant is fed up with skinflint misers who would rather hover for ages than pay for what they want, if I worked in a shop it would irritate me as I dont like cheap people. They had already been reduced for goodness sake!
If you want professionalism then shop in Harrods not a tiny little morrisons.
And the bit about a treat for your son, which was used to try and invoke some sympathy for you, doesnt wash with me - if you were that bothered about treating him you'd have just bought them.I understand ALOT more than I care to let on
