Sadly, that is too common, people just going to work, and not caring about what they do, they drag down the other workers who do care, and who do want to do a good job.

Employers dont often treat employee's with respect anymore, the concept of a job for life is consigned to the history books, and work is a chore, not a enjoyable challenge for most.

That's not entirely what I meant. I go to work, I try and do my best, and I would expect everyone else to do the same. But in most cases, including mine, I do it because of self pride, not because I want to line my employers pockets..............which yes, and especially in the case of Morrisons (from past experience) is because you aren't treated with respect.

Nor do you know when to use an apostrophe! Education standards have definitely slipped.
  • Okay............no problem..........just making sure..........you wouldn't lose any sleep..........over it!

I won't lose any sleep from that. I might not sleep however due to the high i'm on from the amount of sugar in my system, due to eating a full box of Morrisons cakes, that the shop assistant kindly removed from display, to reduce further and then sell to my missus, on her break of course!:rotfl:

Was it the same box of cakes that the OP was complaining about? That would bring this thread full circle nicely!:rotfl:

No, its just my education was that long ago, I have forgotten most of it :)
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

When I worked in retail we decided what discounted items the customers got, retail is so underpaid so we took every chance of a freebie or bargain we could get, first come first served, however we would not create a ruckus over a sodding cream cake !!!!!!!
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

sack the shop worker on the spot. She was not doing her job properly and cost the store money.
The op obviously wanted the box of cakes
she should have walked away and waited to see if he purchased the goods at full price before reducing. :)

In some areas of industry, yes, ok, i'll agree, but this is one of the well established supermarkets with an annual turnover of millions, and people, regardless of the current economic climate, are always going to need supermarkets. You know as well as I do that Morrisons isn't in any danger of going under. I do accept your point in general, but in this case we both know it doesn't apply?

Safeway supermarkets hit trouble and most were bought up by Morrisons.

So supermarkets can and do go under.
