I don't think it's right for the Morrisons staff to be grabbing these bargains when they're on duty, but I'm not sure I could be bothered making a fuss over a box of cakes either.

I usually head straight for Cheapskates Corner when I go in my local Morrisons, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. They seem to reduce everything to 19p at my local, no matter what it started out at. Never seen the staff bagsying stuff though. Maybe they're more subtle about it.

As far as i can tell ultimatley what she did wrong was do her shopping (reduced or not) while she should be working.

If she was working, not shopping, then no hints would be needed in the first place because she'd be reducing the next item, not placing one in her own shopping basket.

Yes, correct, but most people live in the real world and don't go to work because they want to do their respective company a favour do they? People go to work, with the exception of the odd few i'm sure, to earn a living and feed their families, not to make sure their employer makes as much profit as possible.

If their employers fail to make an adequate profit, they would not be a job for the shop workers. Look at the history of manufacturing industries in this country.

In the history of manufacturing I very much doubt that many businesses have gone under due to the cakes on the reduced table - usually tends to be larger factors at work :D
  • OMG This is soooo funny - it was a BOX OF CAKES !!!!!! !!!
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D

In some areas of industry, yes, ok, i'll agree, but this is one of the well established supermarkets with an annual turnover of millions, and people, regardless of the current economic climate, are always going to need supermarkets. You know as well as I do that Morrisons isn't in any danger of going under. I do accept your point in general, but in this case we both know it doesn't apply?
  • If Morrisons do get back to me, I'm pointing them to this thread.

I've been asked to point out that I am "the partner" by the way, the ex-Morrisons employee, writing these posts! Don't want my missus getting sacked when the Head Office bigwigs read these "disgraceful" points of view...........:D

I know you're just trying to cover yourself but honestly, people from any Morrisons department, especially "bigwigs" reading this thread, and actually taking anything useful away from it to act upon?

Let's just say that's pretty unlikely - although I am amused by the concept of giving this thread as some kind of evidence as part of a complaint about cakes! :rotfl:

Isn't the employee also a customer if they wish to buy something?
    An internal customer:D
