Yes, Zenseeker.
Ian from Simply Electronics completely gave the game away with the mention of ValueBasket.com who I'd never heard of previously. Of course they're yet another bunch of Hong Kong Chinese based shysters who sell dodgy electronics to consumers in the West. Still at least they don't pretend to pay all import duties like Simply Electronics do although they're still pretty disingenuous about it by hiding this minor detail away in their terms and conditions.0 -

I'd never heard of them either, but there's an interesting post here on yet another warning thread about Simply Electronics:
"For all you guys info simplyelectronics is now valuebasket , obviously realising their reputation is in pieces and have decided to rebrand - the website is ValueBasket | One stop shop for the best values and prices on all the latest electronics and gadgets - they must think everyone is stupid!"

No idea whether it's true or not, but it rings true.0 -
Ian from Simply Electronics. obviously.
I wasn't planning on making further comments on this thread but I found a website called
www scamadviser com
and in particular their page:
www scamadviser com / check-website / simplyelectronics net
So any body thinking of dealing with simplyelectronics.net should look at the facts from that website and take heed of the comments throughout this thread.
I guess I was just lucky that my dealings with simplyelectronics went OK and I got my money back with no problem.

What made you mention valuebasket.com? Do you have some involvement with them, or Simply, or are you just unfortunate in that you always seem to buy stuff from what appear to be scammer sites?illegitimi non carborundum0 -

All you've done is to post a link to yet another scam website.
For the record the highly reputable website Web of Trust says Scamadviser.com 'has a poor reputation' . In particular one of its users comments 'Fake or fraudulent reviews website. This information is mostly fabricated and designed to lure in users to fake websites to be scammed by various methods.' :T

On the face of it the Web of Trust ratings for Simply Electronics indicate that they are a trusted company. However the comments made by its users tell a different story.

I must say Ian from Simply Electronics, that's a mighty big hole you're digging for yourself.0 -

--- WARNING! DO NOT BUY FROM Simply Electronics
Simply a H U G E Mistake!! Note to self -- Google first, Purchase after the research!! MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT!!
This is my very first NEGATIVE review that I have ever left about any company or person in my life!
I seem to be another victim!! Simply Electronics business model: take the money, keep it as long as possible and when Simply Electronics runs out of excuses and lies, maybe...just maybe they Refund the money!!
Simply Electronics are very skilled at sending very polite and apologetic emails which may FOOL You to keep hoping that one day you will be one of the happy customers. (that was my thinking during the 21 day period)
This is a crazy business model but is seems to work for Simply Electronics and not so much for me and so many others!
NO MORE EXCUSES Simply Electronics!! Just give me my money back as you've had it for 21 Days already since I ordered my Samsung Galaxy Note2 LTE and never got to see it. MONEY BACK!!!!!!! Please!!!!!
I started to panic after I found this website and read the reviews. I took action after all my emails matched the emails of the other UNHAPPY reviewers on this site such as:
(their email)
"After some investigation, I understand the delay was caused due to backlog on our logistics end initially and due to this please accept our sincere apology.
Rather than commit to a date and fall through, we ask for your extended patience during this time. The order has been flagged for priority already so it will go out as soon as possible. We like to keep your custom and hence we have included a free Sandisk 8GB microSDHC (Class 4) Card along with your order. We appreciate this is just a small gesture given the inconvenience but we hope it goes some way in restoring your confidence in our services.
On the other hand, please confirm that you wish to go ahead with the cancellation and a refund anyway.
Thank you in anticipation.
Best Regards,
Aimee
Customer Service Officer"
.... and a few other emails as well.
I Want a full refund NOW!! NOT "Please allow a few days for us to process your refund. It can take up to 2 weeks on occasion for the refund to be initiated due to current processes we have in place."
You seem to have a very good system in place to take the money IMMEDIATELY!
Simply Electronics a MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT!!

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, contact your bank and tell them you want a refund under S75 Consumer Credit Act for non-delivery.
They may suggest doing a chargeback, which will have much the same effect for you, but may take a little longer. The advantage for the bank is that it gets the money back immediately from Simply Electronics. I'd probably insist on using S75 because it's likely to be quicker.
If you used a debit card, the chargeback route is still open to you, but not S75.
Either way, tell Simply what you're doing - they may decide to pay immediately. The chargeback route will cost them fees as well as the refund itself.0 -
I feel SO ashamed...
I placed an order for a phone update (Samsung Galaxy S4) with Simply Electronics (simplyelectronics.net) on July 18, 2013 as the website price was so competitive; £50 less than Amazon or anyone else. The assurance of a 7-10 days delivery seemed very plausible - I was under the impression that it was a UK based company.
I contacted Simply Electronics after the 10 day period via email, asking where my Goods were. They removed the total sum from my Credit Card Supplier the same day I placed the order. I was told via email that due to the extreme number of orders that the phone would be another 2-3 days.
Another 3 days passed and I contacted them again by email and also by phone... I was advised that the Goods had been damaged and the delivery would take another 7 working days. I started to smell a rat so checked them out on review site's such as this... OMGsh!! How I wish I had done my (USUAL!) research, there would have been NO WAY would I have ordered from this company (?) knowing how bad they were...
I called them again and had an all out slanging match with one of their Customer Service Advisers (when I eventually got through!) - Dont call the 0844 499 0616 number, call 0115 871 4466 I was told I couldn't cancel my order - I protested very strongly. I eventually was advised how to go about cancelling the order. I then advised my Card Issuer and filed a dispute claim - the whole experience with Simply Electronics has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Never again will I placed orders online with unknown companies before at first checking them out initially... I feel so embarrassed to admit to this as I typically am so scrupulous with these things.
:mad: BEWARE of SIMPLY ELECTRONICS... if you want to throw your money away, then place an order with them!:mad:0
