I have copied the Terms and Conditions page from simplyelectronics.net, and I am drawn to the following sections in which (hopefully) I have made stand out by bolding the appropriate sections.
    1. This is a company that resides in Hong Kong, all transactions are bound by their laws.
    2. Import duties are the responsibility of the importer (you), this is the reason their prices look cheap, they are effectively not paying any import/export duties, your cheap electronic device may end up being a whole lot more expensive.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing anything from this site

Now why them staff saying other things than they own term and conditions...
If I record them over the phone can I use that against them self???

Cause after froggitt spoke about the taxes I went to them terms and conditions I read that taxes terms.
So I call them about it and they told me that there will be no tax, the price I paid has the taxes included. Then I point the T&C back again and said because the item goes to them first (warehouse in uk) they then send the item to me.
    I said ok.

    Will see I 'll update...

As by way of an update to my previous post, I ordered an iPad Air 16Gb from SimplyElectronics then changed my mind and ordered a 32Gb one, I cancelled the first order (shown below) and ordered the correct model, I received the 32Gb about 2 and a half weeks after I ordered it, the refund on the first order I am still waiting for and now have passed over the recovery to my credit card company.

27/03/2014 1 x Apple iPad Air with Wi-Fi 16GB (Space Grey) with Full Apple Warranty

So they pay to ship it to their UK warehouse, pay the customs duty, pay the VAT, and then pay again to ship it to you.

All out of the goodness of their heart?

If I record them over the phone can I use that against them self???
If they were a UK company, yes you probably could report them to Trading Standards etc. However, who would you report them to in Hong Kong, and what is the likelihood of you getting any joy?
