I ordered a sigma lens for my Nikon on 12th May 2014 and it came today 27th may 2014 delivered by DPD. I read all the bad press and took a chance as the price was cheaper than uk retailers. I have bought direct from japan before with success buying a Nikon d3200 camera. The lens came in perfect order and I'm extremely happy. The website does look as if they are a uk based company but they are not. I even phoned customer service and got through straight away and they answered my question professionally. I RECOMMEND THEM.0

I am so angry with myself. Late last night after staying up to long comp shopping I got taken in by SE.
Found them through Google shopping search with the right product and a good price. The web site looked professional and I was just to tired to think about googling the company name before going ahead.
It was only because the payment confirmed screen was a bit odd that I did some searching and found all the bad press.
I have cancelled my order with SE tonight but was too late top stop the payment with my bank. Any advice of other things I should do now from people with successful experience of getting their money back from this lot?

I today received a camera I ordered from SE just under 2 weeks ago. Well wrapped, looks new and has all accessories. Could be a US model as has US plug on USB power adapter but SE have provided universal plug adapters in the package. Do I care? I have loads of USB power adapters and the camera is no different.
My only gripe is that the website claims fast delivery and it took nearly 2 weeks. I did contact customer services after a couple of days when I spotted this forum and had received no email nor seen an update in order status. Response was prompt and courteous. Pretty much every couple of days after that the order status was updated to reflect the next step in their tortuous packaging and delivery process until I then got an email with receipt followed by another with tracking details through DPD.
I'd definitely recommend them so long as you're not in any hurry to get your goods...0 -
Order Status updates:
*1 May 2014– Order placed & Paid – status “ Your payment is being verified”
*7 May status “Your order is in queue and will be ‘processed’ for depatched at the soonest opportunity”
*12 May status “Your order is progressing. It it pending stock allocation or quality check before it goes out for delivery”
*13 May status –AWAITING DISPATCH “ Your order is pending courier dispatch. An email will be sent with the tracking details once it is shipped”
*15 May - Emailed SE to ask what’s going on > Reply > : ”Our aim is to ensure that you receive the order within 4-10 business days in line with our delivery time frame. I see that your order has been upgraded to expedited delivery service as well. Once the goods leave our warehouse, delivery can be expected within 2-4 days.”
*15 May Status changed to-Order Backlog "Apologies for the delay. We are working diligently to ship your order as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."
*19 May Status “Your order has been upgraded to priority dispatch. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We look forward to completing your order at the soonest available opportunity"
*21May I Emailed” Hi, It's been 21 days since my order, and 7 days since we last spoke. I know you said you are still trying to process my order then . Any sign of a dispatch yet? or give me a date of dispatch many thanks.”
*21May REPLY excerpt) > What I’ve done for you is add a note to your order to push for an earlier dispatch if the opportunity arises. We ship on a first in first out basis so whilst this can be difficult, there’s always a chance.
*23May Reply > I cannot guarantee a date for the delivery. We are trying our best to fulfill all orders as soon as possible but do not want to commit to a specific date
*23May Order Cancelled & Confirmed .
*29May Credit Card Refund Received
I then found the same item on eBay in UK for the same price (Plus £6 post) , Brand New/Perfect, and Received it in less than 24hrs !!!,0 -

I myself went through the process and did received my item check davlight971 post you all see all the details.
Expect at least 10-16 working days...
My Samsung tablet was genuine I check with samsung uk. Had the full 2 years warranty.
If I was would call them on 01158714466 and told them not to cancel and proceed..
They order from outside UK to them not sure place where they have dpd deliver to you.

Hi,
1st time poster here. I too am suffering at the hands of SE.
I ordered a garmin watch that was 'in stock' and was quoted 4-5 day delivery.
Payment was taken within a minute!
After 28 days and still not dispatched I e-mailed SE to cancel the order. I have then suffered an endless exchange of e-mails where my requests for a refund are avoided and random delaying statements offered.
Even though they 'accepted' my request to cancel and said the order was on hold they dispatched a parcel anyway?!.
It is now 37 days and counting. DPD have tried to deliver twice and both times, I'm pleased to say, I was out.
I just want a refund!
If DPD return the parcel to SE am I at risk of being charged?
Any comments/advice will be most appreciated.
Thanks

If you are in no rush for your item to arrive, you will be fine. My advice would be to ignore any lead times on their website. Anything that says an item is in stock, or will be delivered in 2-3 working days, this is completely untrue. When I ordered an iPad on the 21st May, in time for a birthday on 29th May, I thought that left me plenty of time. The website said 2-3 days delivery. When I enquired to their very friendly customer service staff where it might be, when this time had passed, they said it would definitely be with me in the 4-10 working days stated. Except that they hadn’t stated 4-10 working days, they’d stated 2-3 of course! And I do want to reiterate this – their customer service staff are incredibly friendly… and utterly useless. They are there only to put you off and offer platitudes. When I asked direct questions, which were:
• Why was the iPad not sent in the 2-3 days promised on the website next to the "In Stock" note by its description?
• Why was I then told it would be despatched within 4 - 10 working days?
• Why was it only then despatched yesterday evening (a full two weeks from my order)?
• Why did you take my money prior to despatch?
• Having just read some frankly appalling feedback on Trustpilot, it seems that your products are not UK products. Is my iPad a UK spec iPad with a UK plug, instructions and warranty?
• Why is it in Holland and when will it reach me?
• Where are you based?
They only answered one, that the item would have a UK plug and manual and a 12 month warranty. So I asked them again. They (politely) ignored me again.
Clearly there is something dodgy about this company. They took my money on the 21st May and didn’t deliver me an iPad until today – 5th June. But they’ve never explained why the lateness and why they held onto my money without sending me goods. In fact the item was only sent to me at the point that I stopped being polite to them and showed them how angry I was with the situation. The reply was that, at that stage and only then, that my iPad was being despatched.
If I can help you at all today – unless you have money you can afford to throw away without worrying whether you will ever get anything in exchange for it, don’t be swayed by the prices, DO NOT BUY FROM SIMPLY ELECTRONICS.0
