Good morning
It's freezing cold here too the heating is earning it's keep at the moment! Everyone is awake now except for DH but the kids have all gone back to bed
We have no plans to go anywhere except for walking the dogs before lunch. The WM has done it's thing & the dryer is on. Beans on toast for lunch and celery & potato soup and naan followed by sponge pudding & custard for dinner
Diva Thinking about you.
Taplady Glad Janet is doing better
((hugs)) to anyone else who needs one and have a good day.
Edited to add: Teresita I have never started stuff on the hob with my slow cooker as I'm not sure that they can take the direct heat. HTH0 -
morning all:D
what a night I have had:rolleyes:, DS woke at 2am with a chesty cough and snotty nose, gave him calpol and rubbed on the Vicks but he wouldnt settle. He came downstairs wth me for a cuddle while the medicine worked......got him back to bed at 3am and 10 mins later he is crying again and cannot settle so have been up ever since:rolleyes::o.
Have loads of jobs to do today and now just CBA;).....will have to do it though....ironing etc.
HM pizza for tea later and early night.
More snow here overnight and snowing lightly now.
OH is working today for first time since Mon....someone with a van with snowtyres is driving him around:rotfl:
It has been quite nice having him at home this week in a way...he has helped with jobs a bit and we found some inventive ways of keeping warm yesterday afternoon;):o.
I have The thrifty cookbook from the library so may have a read of that later.
Keep warm and safe everyone0 -
Opened the curtains and its snowing and has been for a while - its still novel here as we haven't had much! May cause problems getting my jobs done today but i've re-scheduled two to tomorrow to allow a later start. Going to wake DH and venture out in an hour ..or two!

Morning all...................(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Its another very cold one here....we had another shower of snow last night, not sure what the outside temp is but the central heating is going and I also have the fire on in the sitting room to warm it up a bit then the central heating will keep it up. Load of whites in the washer.
Collected new thermals yesterday, I have my vest on, under a rugby type shiirt and a fleece zip up on top of that. Once I warm up I can shed the zip up.
Not too sure what I am going to be doing today, I have some ironing to do fro.m yesterday. I have fallen out with my sewing just now other things going on that are occupying me.
We need to try the grocery challenge, have to do some serious cutting back from now on.
I have never been a fan of porridge, in fact I can go as far as to say I hate it, however this week I bought some instant porridge to try and I find I can eat it as long as its fairly smooth and has a little sugar on. so it will be porridge for me from now on until the weather clears a bit and I can go back to my branflakes and muslie.
We are away 'up north on Tuesday for 2 nights I hope it has improved a bit weather wise by then.....DS2 is a lorry driver drives one of those huge articulated trucks with a trailer on......he was working all last week managed to do all his deliveries so no one went without. one trip he did not get back home until 6.50am from 12 noon the previous day.....I do admire his guts and I have to say he is a very safe and courteous driver, having been well taught bt his mother. I well remember him coming home after he passed his test.....the next day I took him onto the motorway and taught him to enter and exit the morotway correctly and to have awareness of what was happening in front and behind him. He always wanted to drive a 'big' truck. He was chuffed as little mint balls when a firm he worked for agreed to put him through the (used to be) HVG course and he passed first time.
Time to get on, I spend too much time on this infernal machine....see y'all later.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Yeah its a slow cooker but the pot lifts out so think you can keep it in the fridge ready and not sure if it can be used to start stuff off on the hob.
I searched online for manuals but couldn't find one. However there's loads of info on the forums here. Try http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1332010#post1332010
Also Reevoo is a good place to compare.

It's important to bear size in mind since a 6.5 takes up a fair bit of space - but if you are a large family it's worth it. Shape is important too. Most people recommend an oval one as you can use it for joints. My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
